at the Far East Restaurant. Those attending were Mary Lou Truesdale„ Oliver
Hamel, Dr. C.L. Busby, Dr. D.J. Truitt, Mayor John Stoneham, Judge Henry Heck,
Marshall Pharr, Dr. Randall Heye, Ray D. Blair, Dr. Gerald Wagner, Clara Neis,
Lucy "Nall, David Oates, Jim Clayton and Dr. Felix Crawford.
The minutes of the meeting of September 21, 1972 were read and correct to show
Dr. C.L. Busby present for the meeting.
Motion by Ray D. Blair that the expenditure report for September be approved
was seconded by Oliver Harmel. Motion carried.
Judge Heck reported that the Commissioners Court had not acted on the amended
budget because of sickness of some of the members, but this would be on their
agenda at next meeting.
Mayor Stoneham reported that the City Council voted to go 50% on the amended
budget.
Marshall Pharr stated that the City Council had a request signed by ten meat
markets requesting that the city ordinance be amended to delete that portion
which would permit sawdust to be used in meat markets. It was suggested that
City County Health Board and Milton Sims make a study and check the State
requirements and make recommendations.
David Oates reported that the committe had met regarding the Migrant Policy
Board and it was their recommendation that ten interested members of the
Old Migrant Board along with three members from the Plainview- Hale County
Board of Health be placed on the ballq. Members from the Healthiftard to
be Ray D. Blair, Dr. Felix Crawford anarRandall Heye. Dr. Busby made a
motion that the recommendation be accepted. Oliver Harmel seconded motion.
Motion carried.
H • It was reported that LucyNalland David Oates had been selected as members
of SPAG BOard..
Judge Heck read a•letter fromLlano Estacado Farm Workers of Texas, Leonardo
lehetis, and it was 'suggested that he be advised that County Board for SPNG
had been completed.
David Oates briefly reviewed a preliminary report of the Feasibility Study
the purpose of which was to provide health care to migrants and seasonal
agricultural fain. workers.
Jim Clayton was highly praised for his work. Dr. Wagner reported seeing lots
of patients at Family clinics. Mary :Lou Truesdale reported a new nurse, Fran
Greenlee, had been hired. All work was progressing satisfactorily.
No other business appearing, the meeting adjourned.
