HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-15-1979 Board of Health MinutesPLA COUNTY BOARD OF KEALTH MINUTES FEBRUARY 15 1979 The Plainview -Hale County Board of Health met in regular session at K -Bob's Steak House on February. 15 1979. Those in attendance were: Dr. Hugh H. Wilson, Jr., Dr. Richard E. Morgan, Mr. Bud Law, Mr. Oliver Harmel, Mrs. Mary Lou Truesdale, Dr. C. M. Baldwin, Dr. John P. Board, Jr., and Mrs. Myrna Moore. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Baldwin. The minutes of the January 25th meeting were read by Dr. Baldwin, since some had not had the time to read the Board of Health material that had been compiled and mailed to them previously the week before. Minutes were approved as read. Dr. Baldwin made a motion that the January bills be paid. Mr. Harmel seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mr. Harmel reported from the nominating committee and recommended that Dr. Baldwin would continue to serve as chairman for the rest of the year and Mr. Hamel would continue to serve as vice-chairman. Motion was made by Mr. Law that theAnominating committee be elected by acclamation. Motion was seconded by Dr. Morgan. Motion carried. Dr. Baldwin suggested to Mrs. Truesdale that she write Ronnie Hutcherson in regard to serving on the Board of Health. Dr. Board reported on guidelines for Measles. Discussion followed. Dr. Wilson made a motion that the Board of Health recommend that the Schools institute a screening program for measles vaccine through the 7th grade level. Mr. Law seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Board of Health expects the Plainview -Hale County Health District to take action to see that the schools institute the screening program for the measles vaccine. Mrs. Truesdale reported that Mike Levitt, our new sanitarian was doing well in his new job. Mrs. Truesdale reported that we have a new student clerical trainee from the Man Power Program. She also mentioned we would be getting another student nurse aide trainee beginning February 20th. There being no further business to come before the Board, Dr. Baldwin made a motion that the meeting be adjourned and seconded by Dr. Wilson. Potion carried. Respectfully submitted, /1Z760 -71.4x.
