BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The City of Plainview Park Advisory Board, as appointed by City Ordinance Number 95-3035,
dated, as approved, March 28, 1995, held an open meeting at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, June 21,
2001, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 901 Broadway Street, Plainview, Texas. Minutes
for this meeting are hereby submitted as follows.
ITEM
1. Called to order by Chairperson Mrs. Davis at 5:08 P.M.
2. Invocation given by Mrs. McDonald.
3. Members present were: Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Luna, Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Riggins, Mrs.
Walker and Mrs. Wall.
4. Members absent were: Mrs. Kiser.
5. No guests present.
6. City Staff present were: Mr. Rusty Reese, Park Superintendent.
7. May's meeting minutes were given by Mrs. Davis and approved as read.
8. Old Business -
none
9. New Business -
a. Elect Chairperson - Mrs. Davis was nominated to continue to serve by Mrs. Wall
and second by Mrs. McDonald. Nomination carried by unanimous vote.
b. Mrs. Irma Luna was asked if she would continue to serve an additional four years,
on the Park Advisory Commission. Mrs. Luna consented to continue to serve.
c. Skate Park Design and Location —
Location — After review and discussion were made of the option as to the
location for the skate park, Mrs. Walker made a motion to construct the skate
park in the southwest portion of Regional Park, west of the golf driving range,
south of the draw between the I X27 east service road and north of Kirchwood
Drive. The motion was second;ty Mrs. Wall. Motion passed by unanimous vote
after review and discussion of some designs of skate parks. Mrs. Wall made a
motion to select the drawing identified by $90,000.00 design with the substitution
of a double spine half pipe replacing11t//he single, small, half pipe and area to include
a hockey court. Mrs. Davis second`he motion. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
10. Opened meeting for comments and questions — no response.
11. Next meeting set for October 11, 2001 unless the need for an additional meeting arose.
12. Meeting adjourned at 6:15 P.M.
