BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The City of Plainview Park Advisory Board, as appointed by City Ordinance Number 95-3035,
dated, as approved, March 28, 1995, held an open meeting at 4:30 P.M., Thursday, November
08, 2001, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 901 Broadway Street, Plainview, Texas.
Minutes for this meeting are hereby submitted as follows.
ITEM
1. Called to order by Chairperson Mrs. Davis at 4:30 P.M.
2. Invocation given by Mrs. McDonald.
3. Members present were: Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Luna, Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Wall.
4. Members absent were: Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Riggins and two vacancies.
5. No guests were present.
6. City Staff present were: Mr. Rusty Reese, Park Superintendent.
7. October's meeting minutes were given by Mrs. Davis. Changes were made to meeting
date, from October 17 to October 11, misspelled words corrected: maker to marker and
server to sewer. Also, added in to a sentence. "in the south, southeastern portion of the
park". Minutes were approved as read.
8. Old Business -
Discuss expenditures and request made for park improvements for 2002. It was
determined that the parks department can and will repair the crack in Frisco's
basketball court and add some toddler swing seats to Givens' swing set with this
years park budget.
On remaining request, Rusty is to get prices for lighting expenses for Frisco
basketball court and prices for concrete culverts and plastic tunnels. Also, a price
for a cover over Running Water Draw tennis court for discussion for next meeting.
In addition, Rusty is to request the assistance from Matthew Tsakanikas to
possibly determine if the tree on the south side of Givens is a historical tree, dating
back to Lake Plainview era.
9. New Business -
Tour of Frisco and Givens parks. Rusty escorted Mrs. Davis and Mrs. McDonald
on the tour of the parks to gain a prospective of the needs and requests.
10. Next meeting set for January 10, 2002.
11. Meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
