HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-26-1981 Board of Health MinutesPLAINVIEW-HALE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES The Plainview -Hale County Board of Health met in regular session on February 26, 1981 at K -Bob's. Those in attendance were: Dr. Larry Karrh, Dr. Randall Heye, Dr. Hugh H. Wilson, Mr. TcmAday, Mrs. Mary Lou Ttuesdale, Maria Rodriguez, Mrs. Iva Jean West, Mr. James Belk, Mayor Bob Wayland, Mr. Oliver Harmel, Et. Richard Mbrgan, Dr. C.M. Baldwin, Dr. C.L. Busby, and Mr. Jesse Nave and guest, Mrs. Nave. The meeting was called to order by the chairman, Dr. Karrh. The motion was made by Dr. Wilson that the minutes be approved. The motion was seconded by Mrs. West. Motion carried. The next order of business concerned all outstanding bills. The motion was made by Dr. Baldwin that these bills be paid. The notion was seconded by Dr. Morgan. Motion carried. Dr. Wilson reported that the Resource Committee met with the City Council on February 19, 1981 and the Commissioners Court on February 20th In each case the concessus appeared to be that there would be support for the financing needed for the part-time Director. A formal commitment could not be made because the subject was not a posted agenda item. No approaches have been made to any physician as yet. Discussion was held about the physicians that are being considered. The resource committee is to report at next Board meeting in March. Dr. Karrh announced that Dr. Heye -would be the clinical director and Dr. Busby would be the Acting -Director for the Plainview -Hale County Health District. Mrs. Truesdale reported that a letter was going out to each of the physicians associated with the Medical Association, Hospitals, and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, that would be helpful to the Health Department on the Communicable Disease reporting area. The Communicable Disease information is being called every Fridayby the Plainview -Hale County Health District. Mrs. Truesdale urged that the physicians report the diseases as best as possible. Discussion was held. Mrs. Truesdale presented a House Bill #200 that she felt that needed to be amended or corrected. The changes in that bill needs to be shared by the members and a decision be made. A copy of the bill was to be sent to each member for revision. Discussion was held. Mrs. Truesdale then presented House Bill #549 for discussion. This bill deals with the composition of the Board of Health . Discussion showed opposition to this bill because it mandated the composition so stringently. Dr. Baldwin moved the Board write letters to Representative Pete Laney and Senator Farabee opposing this bill. The motion was seconded by Dr. Wilson. Motion carried. Dr. Wilson moved that the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Dr. Busby. Mbtion carried. Meeting adjourned. Respectfully -7474W4r1) Maria G. Rodriguez
