HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-30-1981 Board of Health MinutesPLAINVIEW-HALE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES May 28, 1981 The Plainview -Hale County Board of Health met in regular session on April 30, 1981, at K -Bob's. Those in attendance were: Dr. Larry Karrh, Dr. Richard Morgan, Mr. Oliver Harmel, Mr. James Belk, Mr. Bud Law, Mr. Tom Aday, Dr. Anthony Lyons, Mr. Terry Teague, Mrs. Iva Jean West, Mrs. Mary Lou Truesdale, and Maria Rodriguez. The meeting was called to order by the chairman, Dr. Karrh. The motion was made by Dr. Morgan that the minutes be approved as circulated.- The motion was seconded by Mr. Law. Motion carried. The next order of business concerned all outstanding bills. The motion was made by Mr.' Harmel that these bills be paid. The motion was seconded by Mr. Law. Motion carried. The agenda on the appointment of a nominating committee was in error it should have read as appointment of a budget committee. Mrs. Truesdale said that she had received the Budget Agenda from the city manager and was requested to present the budget to the Finance Director no later than May 22, 1981. The appointed committee for the budget was Dr. Morgan, Mr. Harmel, and Mr. Law. Mr. Harmel was appointed as chairman. Dr. Lyons and Dr. Karrh would sit in. Dr. Karrh introduced Dr. Lyons to Board members as the New Acting Director for the Plainview -Hale County Health District. Mrs. Truesdale reported that the Health Department is still in need of a nurse and said that any help in acquiring one would be appreciated. She also announced that Ester Smith, the new CETA employee was doing an excellent job of helping the clerk typists. Mrs. Truesdale also stated that Mrs. Jarzynka is starting her training with Joan Hoffmaster and will be working toward developing our Pre -Natal Clinics. Our goals is to have them going no later than September. Discussion was held on the Pre -Natal clinic grant. It mostly involved the training and educating of pregnant women. Mrs. Truesdale reminded Dr. Karrh that she would need assistance in restructuring the program to make it acceptable to Local physicians. Mrs. Truesdale also discussed the Senate Bill #200. This Bill failed in Committee. The board adjourned for a brief executive session regarding personnel. action was taken. Respectfully, Maria G. Rodriguez Plainview -Hale County Board of Health
