HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-28-1982 Board of Health MinutesBOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES The Plainview—Hale County Board of Health met in regular session on October 28, 1982 at K -Bob's. Those in attendence were: Dr. Larry Karrh, Dr. C.M. Baldwin, Dr. Anthony Lyons, Mrs. Iva Jean West, Mr. James Belk, Mr, Oliver Harmel, Mrs Susan Dobbins, Dr. Hugh Wilson, Mr. Tom Aday, Mr. Bud Law, Mr. Lanny Voss, Dr. C.L. Busby, Mrs Mary Lou Truesdale, and the secratary Mrs. Felicia Arias, guest were Mrs. Hugh Wilson, Dr. Raquel Cruz and news media representative Charles Becktold. The meeting was called to order by the Co—Chairman, Dr. Karrh. Dr. Karrh asked for any corrections of the minutes. Dr. Baldwin moved that the minutes be approved as they were circulated, Mr. Harmel seconded. Motion carried. Dr. Karrh asked for a motion on the bills. Mr. Harmel moved that the bilis be paid, Mrs. Dobbins seconded. Motion carried. Dr. Karrh asked for a report from Dr. Lyons and Mrs. Truesdale. Dr. Lyons reported that there were not any recent epidemics. We are presently experiencing an increase in reported Gastroenteritis and influenza. Other activities remain stable. Mrs. Truesdale reported that contracts were signed by Petersburg and Hale Center. Hale Center had already sent their money. She also stated that Dr. Cox was having the Food Handlers Workshop at 2:00 p.m. today. All Food Services Managers had been notified about the Food Managers License fees. Lanny Voss asked about the influenza vaccine. Mrs. Truesdale stated that we are not giving flu shots to the public any more. We purchase the vaccine and we have given them to the staff. The sheriff's office purchased the vaccine and we administered the injections to the staff at the Law Enforcement Center. Mrs. 'Truesdale stated that the meeting for November and December was going to be a joint meeting on Ithe first Thrusday in December.
