Dr. Wilson called meeting to order.
A request for an excused absence for Dr. C.L. Busby and Weaver McClure.
Mrs. Womble made motion to excuse Dr. Busby and Mr. McClure. Dr. Abercrombie
seconded. Motion carried.
Minutes were accepted as submitted.
Mrs. Tilson made motion to pay bills. Mrs. Womble seconded. Motion carried.
Item #3 on the agenda is the proposed budget for 1984-85. The board discussed
the proposed budget reviewing it. Dr. Abercrombie
proposed
submitted the same as 1983-84 budget with the exceptions of #1 -Nurse -85 pbudgetio be
be promoted to Nurse II position with 2.5% merit raise, #2 -employees of Plainvn

Hale County Health District receive the same amount of raise as city employees,
#3 -travel reimbursement be made at the rate of 20.5 /mile, #4 -Dr. Lyons' contra
be increased to $700/month. Discussion followed. Dr. Wilson entertained motioct
to present proposed budget. Dr. Abercrombie made motion. Mrs. Tilson seconded.
Motion carried.
Item #4 on agenda is the revision of B

Bill 109. Discussion began. Bylaws must bey updated byLaws tomSeptemberly withVC 1,4436b 1984 insorder
to be in compliance with the senate bill 109. Dr. Wilson appointed committee to
work on updating bylaws. The committee appointed are Lanny Voss, Chairman, Dr. Larry
Karrh and Mrs. Dorothy Tilson.
Dr. Lyons reported on communicable diseases as influenza was low,
usual cases with less hepatitis. Some cases of measles have been diagnosed with
eritis
serology testing to confirm measles in Lubbock and Lamb Counties. Some Hale County
students have been exposed.
Mrs. Truesdale reported 2 consecutive negative water samples at Plains Mobile
Home Park, the first time in a year. Mr. Hatchell stated he is working with Mr.
Bates, owner of park, on city water and with a co
block grant. sewer systems for the park community
Mrs. Truesdale reported problem of staffing doctors for Family Planning
Clinics. She also stated an increase of earlysyphilis
as 2 months and less than one ear. atecases some as early
Y Jail Clinic attendance is high.
Mrs. Truesdale mentioned that Mr. Hooper came to the department to visit. Dr.
_Wilson made known that anyone was welcome to visit the health department. The
Food managers course was discussed. The course content is excellent but attendance
was low. State Food and Drug officials recommend making attendance mandatory.
The state has budgeted $4,000.00 of capital outlay for the department. Chairs,
filing cabinets, an examining table, a microwave were requested. Mrs. Truesdale
explained the request of a microwave for the
Purpose to warm formula and food for
babies during clinics.
Mrs. Tilson made motion to adjourn. Dr. Abercrombie seconded. Motion carried.
