HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-29-1984 Board of Health MinutesBOARD OF HEALTH November 29, 1984 Attending the Board of Health meeting on November 29, 1984 at the Plain- view Country Club were: Dr. Gary Abercrombie, Lewe1len Hooper, Mayor G. Pidle- huber, Jim Jeffers, City Manager, Dorothy Tilson, nr. Anthony Lyons, Weaver McClure, Tom Aday, Lanny Voss, James Belk, Mary Lou Truesdale and Jo Ann Baker, Secretary. Dr. Abercrombie, Chairman called the meeting to order. He requested excused absences for Donna Womble and Dr. Wilson. Mr. Hooper moved the motion, Mrs. Tilson seconded. The minutes were corrected and approved. Mrs. Tilson moved that bills be approved and paid. Mr. McClure seconded, Motion carried. Mrs. Truesdale passed circulars on new meeting dates for 1985. The Board of Health will continue to meet at the Plainview Country Club. Dr. Lyons reported the City and County were in good shape. He also stated that the Health Department will be utilizing Region 2 Environmental Health Personnel for Sanitarian inspections. Dr. Lyons wrote a letter to Commissioner C.C. Eaves, Associate Commissioner for Local and Rural Health services, stating that funds to pay fringe benefits for the Sanitarian I position were not avail- able locally. Mrs. Truesdale reported that the funds collected for 83-84 were $9,513.60 from the fee schedule. All contracts have been renewed with Abernathy, Hale Center and Petersburg. Pursuant to Dr. Abercrombie's letter regarding SPAG, we reported that Donna Womble, James Belk and Dr. Anthony Lyons names were submitted. Barbara Dorman and James Belk were elected to the SPAG Health Advisory Board. Mrs. Truesdale stated that the Health Department has experienced some de- cline and that December would be a relatively slow month. Clients would only be in for routine checks that are needed because of the Holidays. The Health De- partment will be reevaluating cases for the upcoming new year. She also stated that it world probably be about the middle of January before we are able ro re- place a Sanitarian, but that we are working on a priority list to assist the Re- gion 2 staff in making inspections for us, while we are without a sanitarian and as we began to train our new employee. Mrs. Truesdale didn't know where we stood on the Cooperative Agreement, she have not spoken with Mr. Hamilton regarding the Agreement. Mrs, Tilson moved to adjourn. Mr; Hooper seconded the motion.
