Lyons, Mary Lou Truesdale , at the Plainview Country Tom Aday, City Councilman; . Donna Womble; Dr. Mary Dr. C.L. Busby; Jim Jeffers, and Lupe Cast ill o, Secretary. Dr. Abercrombie, Chairman, called the meeting to order. Mrs. Tilson moved to pay bills. Mrs. Womble seconded. Motion carried. Dr. Lyons reported that the Department was running smoothly, with no problems. He also reported that Nona McNally, Sanitarian had returned to work from maternity leave. Dr. Lyons, also .reported a few cases of gastroenteritis. Mrs. Truesdale made the Board aware that she and Mr. Jeffers have been working on the Sanitarian Technician position, she stated that Mr. Jeffers had not give her a negative response. She also stated that Mr. Jeffers has asked for some additional data which she was compiling with respect to the cost of the new position and the possibly offsetting some of those cost with increased revenue. She also stated that she and Mr. Jeffers had been looking at some adjustments in the f scale charge primarily in the Environmental Health Section. Mrs. Truesdale reported that we have collected, 12,589.71 through the end /Of June, 1986, which is a little over $3,000.00 more than we had for all the /last fiscal year. As of a deposit made July 29, 1986, for July we have collected and additional $888.76. We will probably exceed our $15.000.00 projected revenues this year. Mro. Truesdale also informed the board that we have several new food establish- ments opening up. Mrs. Truesdale asked Mr. Jeffers if they had council action on the food sellers permit, Mr. Jeffers replied no, that we would work on that with the Health permits and the grocery stores. Mr. Jeffers also stated that David Blackburn was working on that project. Mrs. Truesdale asked if it would be in effect by the first of the year when we permit food establishments, Mr. Jeffers said that it would. Mrs. Truesdale also stated that we had recommended and that Mr. Jeffers has requested some additional backup data on increasing the cost of the food permits from $50.00 required now, to perhaps $75.00, he also asked Mrs. Truesdale for a breakdown about time involved. Mrs. Truesdale commented that we also wanted to look at what was fair to a convenience store as opposed to a major grocery store such as Smith's Food or M -System. She also stated that it took much more time to inspect the larger stores such as Smith's (at least 5 hours are spent on an inspection in a store that size), as compared to a convenience store which normally takes about an hour. She also stated that we have some food service establishments that differ greatly too, such that its going to take longer to inspect the Country Club than it would be to inspect the Burger Bar, due to the fact that there is basically more areas to inspect. Mrs. Truesdale feels that we can justify the Sanitation Technicin position. ,She stated that the rest of our services were busy and that there were not any problems with any of our services or changes in any areas. She also stated that Mrs. Nona McNally being back was a big help due to the fact that we did get behind while she was gone.. Dr. Abercrombie asked if there was any reports from the City or County. Dr. Abercrombie asked for excuses absences for Dr. Kit Kveton, and Lanny Voss. Weaver McClure made motion to excuse Dr. Kveton and Lanny Voss, Dorothy Tilson seconded, motion was carried. There being no further business, meeting adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Lup- Castillo, Secretary
