HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-29-1987 Board of Health Minutes, BOARD OF HEALTH OCTOBER 29, 1987 Those attending the Board of Health meeting on October 29, 1987 were: Lanny Voss; Dorothy Tilson; Dr. Gary Abercrombie; Dr. Kit Kveton; Dr. Anthony A. Lyons; Dr. Mary Bublis; Lewellen Hooper; Donna Womble; James Belk; Weaver McClure; Tom Ady� -a Jim Jeffers; Frank Russell, City Manager of Abernathy; David Blackburn, Assistant City Attorney; Mary Lou Truesdale; Michelle Cammann, Health Department Sanitarian, and Secretary, Elvia Montez. Mr. Voss called the meeting to order. The minutes were accepted. and approved as circulated. Mrs. Tilson moved that the bills for September be paid. Mrs. Womble seconded. Motion carried. Mr. Voss read a letter from Randall G. Heye, M.D. expressing his appreciation for the recognition the Board had given to him. He regreted not being able to attend the presentation dinner. Final action will be taken after the public hearing. The board voted that the public meeting be held on December 3, 1987, at 7:00 P.M. with the meeting place to be pending. (probably at City Council Chambers). Dr. Abercrombie moved. Mrs. Womble seconded. Motion carried. Mrs. Truesdale mentioned that on Section 4 of the same act non-profit organizations have been exempt from health district rules and regulations. Cities may include these establishments in their own ordinances. Dr. Lyons reported several cases of strep throat, vomiting and diarrhea have been reported in the past month. Also 8 cases of Hepatitis. Page 2 10-29-87 Board of Health Mrs. Truesdale reported no major problems in the department, and mentioned that we are looking into the possibility of adding one extra Family Planning Clinic, because of the increase in utilization of Family Planning Services. Excuses absence for Dr. Busby were asked. Mrs. Tilson moved to grant an excused absence and Mr. Hooper seconded. Motion carried. Weaver McClure moved to adjourn. Meeting adjourn.
