Board members attending were: Lanny Voss, Dorothy Tilson, Mary Lou Truesdale, Lewellen Hooper, Donna Womble, Nina Morris, Earl Brown, Dr. Gary Abercrombie, Kit Linton, M.D. and Jim Jeffers. Others present were Ben Linton, Medical Student Mike Noe and Secretrary Billie Standefer. Chairman Voss reminded Board Members that, due to the lack of a quorum at the meeting in the month of May, there would be no Minutes to review. He asked that they review Expenditures for the months of April and May. There was a motion by Dr. Gary Abercrombie, seconded by Lewellen Hooper to meet the April and May Expenditures. A vote by the Board carried the motion. The Chairman then asked Mrs. Truesdale to give reports ( in Dr Lyons' absence ) for Dr. Lyons and for herself. Mrs. Truesdale told Board Members that the Department was still seeing a lot of Strep Infections, and stated that there was an increase in Hepatitis B. She shared that the Department was running " relatively smoothly "; however, she expressed concern in finding a replacement for Registered Nurse Rosa Lie Mc Murtry who is retiring from the Department the last of September. In relating facts of the Maternal/Child Health Audit on June 19, 1990, Mrs. Truesdale stated that she had received a telephone call from the team leader of the Audit Committee, in which the leader apologized for the way the Audit was conducted and the failure to spend the alloted amount of time in our facility to complete the Audit as planned. Mrs. Truesdale said she was asking for assis- tance in this program in three areas: Salary increase for the Maternal/Child Health Nurse, Ann Mc Adams. Mrs. Mc Adams will assume responsibi- lities when Mrs. Truesdale is out of the office. A "Hands On" training program that will provide cur- rent policies and procedures and up-to-date inform- ation on what's new in the service area. Assistance to the Clerks in Filing Procedures as an aid to more efficient filing methods and ability to retrive promptly anything in the Files. Mrs. Truesdale complimented Gerald Nail, Sanitarian, for having established a much better relationship in the community with Food Establishment Owners. She said, however, that he had had problems with some Swimming pools. Chairman Voss called attention to the Report on Food Establish- ment's scores, and commented that being able to review this printed report made the Board's job easier to determine the needs of an establishment. Concerned about the recent write-up in the Plainview Daily Herald commenting about the current shortage of Nurses and the state of our local hospital, Chairman Voss encouraged Board Members to be aware of the importance of having Central Plains Regional Hosp- ital in our community. He stated that the comments in the write- up might have a beneficial side - it could help the people who live here to realize what a " treasure " it is to have the hosp- ital here. Medical Student Mike Noe was introduced as the guest of Dr. Kit Linton. The Chairman asked that excused absences be granted to Dr. Mary Bublis and Dr. C.L. Busby. With a motion by Dorothy Tilson and a second to that motion by Dr. Gary Abercrombie, the excuses were granted by a vote from the Board. There was no other business. Chairman Voss adjourned the meet- ing. Billie Stand fer Secretary '
