HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-28-1991 Board of Health MinutesBOARD MEETING MARCH 28, 1991 The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Plainview - Hale County Health District was called to order at approximate- ly 12:30 P.M., Thursday, March 28, 1991 at the Golden Corral Steakhouse by Board Chairman Lanny Voss. Those attending were: Lanny Voss, Dorothy Tilson, Dr. Mary Bublis, Mary Lou Truesdale, Nina Morris, Don Dickson, Donna Womble, Dr. Tony Loggins, Dr. C.L. Busby, Dr. Kit Linton, Dr. Gary Abercrombie, Earl Brown and City Manager Jim Jeffers. Also present were Ben Linton, a guest, Med student Sam Collie and Secretary Billie Standefer. Chairman Voss asked Board members to review the minutes of the last meeting. After corrections were noted, the minutes were approved as presented. The Expenditure Report was reviewed, discussed and with a motion by Dorothy Tilson and a second to that motion by Dr. Linton, the Board voted to approve payment of the expenditures. Fee Schedule changes for Environmental Services were explained by Mary Lou Truesdale and the Board voted to increase the fee forWater Sampling from $ 5.00 to $ 8.00 and fees for Swimming Pools from $ 55.00 to $ 64.00. (These changes to become effect- ive immediately.) In Personal Health Services, the only fee change was for Newborn Screening, from $ 1.00 to $ 2.00. Chairman Voss appointed Dorothy Tilson as Chairman of the Budget Committee and stated that he would serve, along with Dr. Gary Abercrombie, on that Committee. In reference to the revision of the Policy Manual, Chairman Voss explained that it was ready for review, and asked City Manager Jim Jeffers to consider a time to set as a time of conference with himself, Dr. Mary Bublis, Mrs. Truesdale, Donna Womble and Dr. Linton to resolve issues of difference. Dr. Bublis reported cases of Flu, Strep, Chicken Pox and Hepatitis in the community. She stated the department was running well. Mrs. Truesdale reported plans for the Department Nurses to do more home visits in the future. She stated that the S.T.D. Clinic was back to normal since Susan Cohen had joined the Nursing Staff and shared that Patricia Knowles had been a welcome addition to the Staff, also. She explained that Vision and Hearing Screening Training was held in the Department. The Department is to begin involvement in the Early, Periodic Screening and Developement Treatment (E.P.S.D.T.) Program with the Department of Human Serv- ices. This service offered to patients receiving Medicaid (from birth to age 21) would increase the Department's revenue, since each Screening done would allow a reimbursement of $ 27.00 After allowing an excused absence for Lewellen Hooper and intro- ducing the guest, the Chairman adjourned the meeting.
