HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-30-1992 Board of Health Minutes• BOARD MEETING JANUARY 30 1992 The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Plainview Hale County Health District was called to order at approximately 12:30 P.M,, January 30, 1992 at the Golden Corral Steakhouse by Chairman Lanny Voss Those attending were: Dr. C.L. Busby, Dr. Gary Abercrombie, Dr.. Kit Linton, Dr. Mary Bublis, Lanny Voss, Mary Lou Truesdale, Donna Womble, Nina Morris, Earl Brown, Dorothy Tilson, Mayor Gene Ridlehuber, Lewellen Hooper, and secretary Isabel Rodriguez,. Chairman Lanny Voss asked Board Members to review the minutes of the December meeting. After corrections were noted and corrected, the minutes were approved with one correction. Approval of the November and December Expenditures were considered; Dorothy Tilson made the motion to approve payment of these Expenditures and with a second to this motion by Lewellen Hooper, the board voted to pay November and December Expenditures. In Mrs. Truesdale`s report she stet ed that one new staff nurse, obbie Dear .joined the staff January 15, 1992. She will be working the S.T.D. program. She will be attending some extensive training in this field in October. Mrs. Truesdale stated concern with the Environmental Health Contract with Petersburg, TX. Mr. Nave, City Manager stated to Mrs. Truesdale that a contract over $750.00 would not be approved. Contract for Petersburg was re -worked; considering number of Food Establishments, Day Care Centers, etc., a contract could not be lowered less than $830.00 and that figure was eliminating all help with complaints or animal control. Mrs. Truesdale has not heard from Mr. Nave since contract revised. Mr. Nave has approached Region II to do their Food Establishment inspections and they have refused. They say that Environmental money is already coming into Hale County through the contract that the City and County have with Texas Department of Health which supports our sanitarians salary and that they must make arrangements with us. Mrs. Truesdale has offered to meet with Petersburg's City Council. If the State were to consider to do Food Establishment inspections the fee would be $204.00 per- inspection. Each establishment would require an inspection at least twice a year. Dr. Mary Bublis reported communicable d sases. Mr. Vos informed the board that based on action taken at the December meeting, Dr. Bublis, Medical Director, Mr. Voss, Chairman, and Mr. Jeffers, City Manager were appointed to conduct a personnel evaluation on Mary Lou Truesdale. Mr. Voss has received the evaluation tool that is used by the City and that he and Mr. Jeffers have discussed a meeting date. As soon as this meeting can be scheduled with Dr, Bublis the process will be completed and reported to the board. Mr. Voss requested an excused absence for Dr. Tony Loggins.
