ADVISORY COMMITTEE
January 3, 1977
The regular meeting of the Unger Memorial Library Advisory Com-
mittee was called to order at 7:10 p. in. in the Librarian's
Office by Mrs. Merwyn Igo, President. Present were Ruby Curry,
Susan LaFont, Malcolm Tisdel, David Willson, and Judy Smith,
Librarian.
The minutes of the December 6, 1976, meeting were approved as pre-
sented. The Librarian's report for December, 1976, was presented.
Mrs. Igo read a thank you note from Barbara Tucker for the mem-
orial the Committee made to the Library in memory of her father.
Mrs. Curry moved the adoption of the Materials Selection Policy as
discussed at the December meeting. Mr. Willson seconded. Notion
carried.
The Committee discussed the collection of overdue materials. The
Committee instructed Miss Smith to contact Joe Sharp, City Attorney,
about the possibility of sending letters from his office to patrons
with past due materials who do not respond to the third notice.
The Committee agreed to try this method for six months. If it is
not successful, the sus-ension of library services to offenders will
be considered.
Miss Smith reported that January 27, 28, and 29, would be designated
as fine -free days. Letters will be sent to patrons with past due
materials for 1976.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:09 p. m.
