HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-06-1975 Library Board MinutesUNG :R !'LMCkIAL LIBit.RY ADVI:5CRY OL F.IT EE October 6, 175 The regular meeting of the Unger Memorial Library Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:15 p.m., Monday, October 6, 1975, in the Library Conference Room by Mrs. Merwyn Igo, President. Present were Malcolm Tisdel, Ruby Curry, Susan LaFont, and Judy Smith,, Librarian. The minutes of the August 4, 1975, meeting were approved as presented. The librarian's reports from August and September were presented. Mrs. Igo and Miss Smith reported on their meeting with the Hale County Com- inission.ers It was announced that the Summer Outreach Program has been approved for 1976, and $1,7?9.00 has been appropriated for that program. Miss Smith announced that the annual meeting of TLA District 9 will be Saturday, October 18 at Harrel Memorial Auditorium. She urged all of the Committee members to attend. It was moved that a $10 deposit be charged for non -permanent residents, effective immediately, with the deposit being returnable when the patron has settled his fines and returned his card. The deposit will not bear interest. Miss Smith announced the hiring of Mrs. Sylvia Groves to fill the vacancy created by Marie Whitfill. Mrs. Whitfill is taking an extended leave -of -absence for health reasons. Mrs. Groves has a B. A. in Education and 15 hours of under- graduate- Library Science courses. Mrs. Groves will begin employment November 3. Miss Smith was asked to draw up a preliminary five-year plan of goals for the library. the was asked to consider services, equipment, and personnel. needs.
