HomeMy WebLinkAboutRSVP Minutes 09-08-2015THE RUNNINGWATER DRAW RSVP ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING SEP IEMBER 8, 2015 MEMBERS PRESENT: Gary Stennett Gail Thrasher Norvene Owen Emma Herring Sally Phillips Carol Schulz Gail Williams Rodney Watson Elsa Cooper Nicki Logan Bobbye Dennis STAFF PRESENT: Irma Shackelford Barbara Vance SPONSOR PRESENT: *The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Rodney Watson gave the invocation. Minutes of the August 11, 2015 meeting were approved. *Irma gave the financial report for July. *Janie Malone was announced as volunteer of the month. *Irma reported on the details of the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. The date will be Tuesday, October 6th at 6:00 pm at the 011ie Liner Center. The meal will be catered by Weekend's Bar B Q. Lucy Dean Record will provide dinner music. Cecil and Betty Jones will sing and the Lone Star Kickers will perform. *Gerald Chambers, Elsa Cooper and Bobbye Dennis delivered bookmarks to veterans in nursing homes, assisted living and senior housing for Patriot's Day on September 11. *Board members were challenged to sell tickets for the His & Her Bicycle Raffle. *Seven dads are scheduled to be recorded at the prisons for "My Dad Reads to Me". *Irma gave an update on the golf tournament. *The Progress Report Follow-up has been received. The Senior Medicare Patrol is available for programs. *The RSVP and 4-H plan to clean up the Hike and Bike Trail on October 14 at 4:15 pm. *RSVP will have a booth for Cowboy Days on Saturday, September 19. *Birthday Recognition for June, July and August was held at the senior citizens center on August 20. The September and October recognition will be at the new McDonald's. The recent Lunch Bunch had the best attendance ever. *Barbara reported that 345 volunteers served 5267 hours in July. There has been a gain of 31 new volunteers in the last few months. *Ballots for Volunteer of the Year were passed out. * The next meeting will be October 13, 2015. *Meeting was adjourned.
