HomeMy WebLinkAboutFriends of Library Minutes 03-04-2016Friends of the Unger Mernorial Librdry Annual Meeting Minutes March 4, 2016 Current officers: Marsha Birdsong, President Nicki Logan, Vice -President Sue Roth, Secretary/Treasurer Birdsong called the meeting to order and welcomed all who were able to attend. Roth passed out copies of the March 20, 2015 meeting minutes and the new Finance Report dated March 20, 2015 -February 29, 2016. She then reviewed the minutes from the previou5 year and hit the highlights ofthe finance report. Roth stated that in the next couple of weeks there would be more monies coming out of the account to cover expenses incurred for John Sigwald's retirement. Nicki Logan moved to accept the previous year minutes and finance report as written. Elise Adamson seconded, followed by a unanimous vote. New officers were elected with theirterms to beginin on April 1, 2016 and run through March 31, 2018. Presented by Birdsong for offices were: Debbie McPherson, President Nicki Logan, Vice -President (rerunning) Ophelia(Phi|) Burns, Secretary/Treasurer The motion to accept presentations as presented was given by Barbara DeBerry, seconded by Shelley Gammage, followed by a vote of acclamation. Bird5ong asked for any projectnuggestiomofortheupcorningyea,. Mary Ann Scott asked if it would be possible for the Friends to finance the purchase of a new date -stamper (charger) for the library. Roth stated that this type of pject is usually not covered by Friends but by the City. Elise Adamson asked if it could still be a possible project to assist the City in purchasing this item. | (Debbie Carlton, Library Adm. A55t.) informed the group that this equiprnent could be pricey even itt could still be found, but the library staff would be waiting until a new librarian could be hired before making any such purchases or changes. |twas decided nospecial projects vvouldtake9|aceotthist)nne' Other prjecto still covered would be Summer leading Club ($500) if the new Iibrarian chooses to continue it and the cost of public broadcastirig by TT!J ($35). Next on the agenda was signing up on work schedules to prepare for the upcoming book sale and the book sale itself. Setup is set to begin at 9:00 on Monday, March 7. The book sale is set for Friday, March 11 from 2:00 to 5:30 with paid membership (Single -55, Fan1)\y-5I0, and Business -$20); Saturday, March 12 from 9:00 to 4:00 (free admission); and Monday, March 14 from 9:00 to 3:00 ($1 per bag sale). Birdsong said she would contact the Church of Latter Day Saints' missionaries and Elise Adamson the Bay Scouts asking for volunteers to help during the book sale. Birdsong announced that the Saivation Army group would be coming on Tuesday, March 15 for clean- up. They have already been contacted and scheduled by Debbie Carlton, Library Adm. Asst. The meeting was adjourned at 4:35 p.m.
