CITY COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL MEETING
City of Plainview
May 4, 1995
The Plainview City Council held a Special Meeting at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 1995, in
the Dining Room of the Old Mexico Restaurant, 2003 West 5th St., Plainview, Texas. Mayor
Pro Tern Dwain Dodson called the meeting to order. Councilmembers present were: Alton
Jackson Sr.-Precinct 1, Mary Virginia Kirchhoff-Precinct 2, Rey Rosas-Precinct 3, Mike
Hutcherson-Precinct 4, Barbara Dorman-Precinct 5, and Irene Favila-Precinct 7.
Staff members present were: James P. Jeffers-City Manager, Dale Simpson-Civil Service
Director, Wally Hatch-City Attorney, Ches Carthel-Director of Public Works, Roland Asebedo-
Asst. Fire Chief, Norman Huggins-Director of Finance and Karen McBeth-City Secretary.
OPEN MEETING
REGULAR AGENDA:
1. Staffing - Fire Department. Ordinance No. 95-3041. An Ordinance of the City of
Plainview, Texas, amending the Fire Department budget of the General Fund for the 1994-1995
budget. Single reading. City Attorney, Wally Hatch, explained that by taking back the two
firefighters that had been suspended, the fire department is overstaffed by one. This Ordinance
amends the budget to accommodate the extra firefighter. Barbara Dorman made a motion to
approved Ordinance No. 95-3041; Mike Hutcherson seconded the motion; the motion passed
unanimously among the Councilmembers present.
2. Adjournment. Mayor Pro Tem Dodson adjourned the meeting at 1:10 p.m.
