HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 0923 minThe City Council met on September 23, 2004 at the Plainview Convention Center, 2902 West 4th Street, Plainview, Texas. The agenda for this meeting was posted in City Hall at 11:00 a.m. on September 20, 2004. Mayor John C. Anderson presided. Councilmembers present were: Kelvin Tipton-District 1, Ron Trusler-District 5, Wendell Dunlap-District 6 and Roland Nash-District 7. Councilmembers absent were: Mary Jane Shanes-District 2, Belinda Pena-District 3 and John N. Bertsch-District 4. Staff members present were: Greg Ingham-City Manager, Wally Hatch-City Attorney, Will Mull-Police Chief, John Berry-Director of Public Works, Dale Simpson- Director of Civil Service, Brice Clements-Engineer, Jack Keller-Budget Manager, John Castro-Director of Community Services, Gary Glass-Fire Chief and Belinda Hinojosa- City Secretary. News Media Representative present were: Richard Orr-Plainview Daily Herald Mayor Anderson delivered the Invocation. The Council and staff reviewed the agenda for the City Council meeting of September 28, 2004. Mayor Anderson presented for consideration upon first reading Ordinance No. 04-3429, an Ordinance Providing for the Extension of Certain Boundary Limits of the City of Plainview, Hale County, Texas, and the Annexation of Certain Tracts of Land Adjacent to and North of the Wal-Mart Supercenter and West of Interstate 27, Hale County, Texas; Severability Clause; Cumulativeness Clause; and Effective Date. Mr. Castro, Director of Community Services stated that by passing this ordinance, it finalizes the annexation process. There was no public comment. Councilmember Trusler moved to adopt Ordinance No. 04-3429 upon first reading. The motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Tipton and carried by unanimous vote.
