HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 75-1806Ordinance 75-1806 AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAIN-VIEW: SECTION 1: On the 10th day of June, 1975, at 7:30 o~c!ock P.M. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Plainview, Texas, the City Council will 'hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Plainview, Texas, of the following described property, to-wit: 'Lying and being situated in Hale Coun.ty,_T~xas, and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the East line of Section 41, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas, which point is 30 feet south of the Northeast corner of said Section 41 and in the south line of a public road and the City Limit Line of the City of Plainview; THENCE S 0°33'53"W. 1,382.6 feet along the East line of the Hale County Airport property to a point for the Northwest corner of a tract leased from the Hale County Farm Bureau for airport purposes; THENCE East 90 feet to a point'; THENCE S 0°33'53"W. 300 feet to a point; THENCE West at 90 feet pass the Southwest corner of Lot 14, Block No. 1, Subdivision of Reese Property located On J-. M. Pressler Homestead Survey, Hale County, Texas, in all 255.8 feet to a point; THENCE S 50°43'05"W. 980.6 feet along a line 50 feet Northwest from and parallel to the center line of Hutcherson Road, a paved road into the airport, to a point in the Northeast edge of a paved park- ing lot; THENCE N 39°16'55"W. 165 feet along the Northeast edge of said park- ing lot to a point at the edge of an aircraft parking ramp; 8. THENCE S 50°4'3'05"W. 550 feet along the edge of said aircraft park- ing ramp and passing Northwest of the Airport Terminal Building to a point which lies West of the airport maintenance machinery storage build'ingj 9. THENCE N. 50°43'05"E. 150 feet to a point; THENCE S. 39°16'55"E. 320 feet passing Northeast of three aircraft hangars and passing Southwest of an auxilliary electrical equipment building which lies West of the Airport Control Tower to a point which lies South of said Airport Control Tower; THENCE N 50°43'05"E. 240 feet passing Southeast of said Airport Control Tower to a point in the southwest edge of Blakney Boulevard; THENCE S 79°43'E. 987.4 feet along the southwest edge of said Blakney Boulevard to a point in the Northwest right-of-way line of Business Route, U. S. Highway No. 87; THENCE S 20°49'W. 2,664.9 feet along the Northwest right-ofzway line of said highway to a point which lies 50 feet South of the South line of said Section 41; THENCE S 88°47'22"W. 3,705.S feet along a line 50 feet South from and parallel to the South line of said Section 41 to a point which bears S 01°58'17'' E. a distance of 50 feet from the Southwest corner of said Section 41; THENCE S 88°20'05'' W. 1,873.6 feet along a line 50 feet South from and parallel to the South line of Section 32, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas, to a point; THENCE N 01°39'55'' Wo 50 feet to a point in the South line of said Section 32, which point bears S 88~20'05'' W. along the said south line of Section 32, a distance of 1,729.36 feet from the Northeast corner of Section 31, Block JK-2, and the Northwest corner of Section 42, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas; THENCE N 56°25'43'' E. 1,624.2 feet along the Northwest line of a tract of land described~in a deed from James Brandes, et ux, to the City of Ptainview recorded in Vol. 500, Page 459, Hale County Deed Records, to a point; THENCE N 01°19'50'' W. 245.0 feet along a line 50 feet west from and parallel to the west line of the Hale County Airport tract to a point; THENCE N 52~O0'50'' E. 560.9 feet along a line 50 feet from and parallel to the boundary line of said Hale County Airport tract to a point; 21. THENCE N 01°19'50'' W. 3,787.9 feet along a l~ne 50 feet West from and parallel to the West line of said Section 41 to a point . in the South line of a tract of land annexed to the City of Plainview March 11, 1975, by Ordinance No. 75-1739. 22. THENCE N 88050'06'' E. 2,570.2 feet along a line 50 feet South from and parallel to the North line of said Section 41 and along the City Limit line of the City of Plainview to a point in the West line of the East Half of Section 40, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas; 23. THENCE South 30.7 feet to a point in the South li~e of a public road; 24. THENCE N 88033'06'' E. 2,187.5 feet along the South line of a public road along the South line of said Section 40 and along the City Limit line to the Place of beginning and containing 553.3 acres of land, more or less. SECTION 2: The Mayor of the City of Plainview is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the above described territory not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes). SECTION 3: The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.° PASSED AND APPROVED This the 13th day of May, 1975.
