Board Members Present: Mark Hardin, Larry Dickerson, Gerardo Rodriguez and
Manuel Gonzales
Board Members Absent: Kevin Whisenant
Staff Members Present: Larry Gould Building Inspector, Larry Hunter — Code
Enforcement Officer, Rosemary Villegas- Secretary
Others Present: None
First item on the agenda was to swear in members. None to be sworn in
Second item on the agenda was the approval of the minutes from the March 6, 2014
meeting. Motion made by Larry Dickerson to approve minutes second by Manuel
Gonzales. Motion carried unanimously.
I. Third item on agenda, MH 14 -01 — 1017 BALTIMORE (CENTRAL PARK
BLK 4 LOT 6 N/2 -7) — review and take action as appropriate. Larry Gould
presented the case. Mr. Gould stated the foundation is missing in some areas, roof
is leaking, holes in walls and ceiling, floors have holes and are unstable, electrical
wiring is missing, plumbing is missing and considered an attractive nuisance.
Motion was made by Larry Dickerson for City to take necessary action to remove
unsafe house. Second by Manuel Gonzales. Motion carried unanimously.
II. Fourth item on agenda, 1208 CALLE P MARTINEZ (FRISCO BLK 2 LOTS
7 -9) — review and take action as appropriate. Larry Gould presented case. Mr.
Gould stated the house is more than fifty percent burned, all doors and windows are
missing, electrical is missing, plumbing is missing, and foundation is missing and is
considered an attractive nuisance. Motion was made by Gerardo Rodriguez for City
to take necessary action to remove unsafe house. Second by Larry Dickerson.
Motion carried unanimously.
III. Fifth item on agenda, MH 14 -03 — 1917 WALTER GRIFFIN (AUSTIN
HEIGHTS BLK 1 LOT 3) — review and take action as appropriate. Larry
Gould presented the case. Mr. Gould stated the electrical wiring is exposed, roof is
leaking, and holes in exterior and interior walls, plumbing and electrical is missing
and considered an attractive nuisance. Motion was made by Larry Dickerson for
City to take necessary action to remove unsafe house. Second by Gerardo
Rodriguez. Motion carried unanimously.
IV. Sixth item on agenda, MH 14 -04 — 1801 WALTER JACKSON (WYE 4 BLK15
LOT 7) — review and take action as appropriate. Larry Gould presented the
case. Mr. Gould stated the footing is gone, most windows and doors are missing,
holes in exterior and interior walls, electrical and plumbing has been removed,
protective coat is missing, roof is in poor condition, most sheetrock has been torn
out, floors are unsafe and considered an attractive nuisance. Motion was made by
Gerardo Rodriguez for City to take necessary action to remove unsafe house.
Second by Manuel Gonzales. Motion carried unanimously.
No further business, meeting adjourned at 6:09 PM.
