HomeMy WebLinkAbout10.07.2013 Minutes • 1 Minimum Housing Standards Board Minutes October 7, 2013 Board Members Present: Mark Hardin, Larry Dickerson, Arthur Williams and Manuel Gonzales Board Members Absent: Gerardo Rodriguez Staff Members Present: Larry Gould Building Inspector, Rosemary Villegas- Secretary First item on the agenda was to swear in members. Larry Dickerson and Manuel Gonzales sworn in with term expiring January 1, 2015. Second item on the agenda was the approval of the minutes from the July 11, 2013 meeting. Motion made by Manuel Gonzales to approve minutes second by Arthur Williams. Motion carried unanimously. I. Third item on agenda, MH 13 -03 — 614 W 18 (SMITH- CROUCH PLV LOT 18) — review & take action as appropriate. Larry Gould presented the case. Mr. Gould stated the house has no foundation, rood is sagging and some shingle are missing, some windows are broken out, plumbing and wiring damaged or missing, some flooring is missing, ceiling has holes, holes in exterior and interior walls and is considered an attractive nuisance. Motion was made by Larry Dickerson for City to take necessary action to remove unsafe house. Second by Manuel Gonzales. Motion carried unanimously. II. Fourth item on agenda, MH 13 -04 — 409 W 19 (LAKESIDE PLV BLK 6 50X110.68 OUT OF N /PT) — review & take action as appropriate. Larry Gould presented case. Mr. Gould stated the house has no foundation, floors are unsafe, some windows are missing, plumbing and wiring damaged, ceiling unsafe, roof is sagging, holes in walls, cellar on property and is an attractive nuisance. Motion was made by Manuel Gonzales for City to take necessary action to remove unsafe house. Second by Arthur Williams. Motion carried unanimously. III. Fifth item on the agenda, MH 13 -05 — 917 FIR (BARKER PLV LOT 16) — review & take action as appropriate. Larry Gould presented case. Mr. Gould stated the house has no foundation, floors are unsafe, plumbing and wiring damaged, electrical meter pulled from house, ceiling unsafe, holes in walls and ceiling, cellar on property is partially caved in, and is an attractive nuisance. Motion was made by Larry Dickerson for City to take necessary action to remove unsafe house. Second by Arthur Williams. Motion carried unanimously. No further business, meeting adjourned at 6:11 PM.
