Second order ol"business was the election of officers. Nicki Logan nominated Beverly Wall and it was
seconded by Darmy Glenn and everyone was in favor. Nicky Logan was elected v-presicictit and Lydia
Castillo as secretary.
President Beverly Wall began to preside, allowing Eric Turner to elaborate on the diflerent functions of the
following cotriminees;
Econornic Restructuring and checking ,rout what buildingsa are vailable for lease, sell or ren6n-, Buildings
need to be used I'm- the function they are made f'or and not just for storage. Perhaps as walk needs to be taken
downtown by this commiittee for observation and notation of what can be done to help the businesscs.
Sherri Leewright was elected chairman fbr th is coniminee. (''VB, discussion was niosdy on grants,
Mains Cultural Arts Progranti: discussion on I 600,0,0 being earniarked for different events,

Proniotions: Reported on coupon promotions that had been held in the pass, but how weather didn't 110p

Design:: Rodney, Lydia & Patrick need to meet widi code enforcernem to learn about the ordinances and
reguladons to he able to approach owners or new owners as ahernatives they cotfld have f6r usage of
buflditigs.
Last but not least, discussion was field about meeting at noon instead ofat 4:00 on Wednesday's. Some

Minutes for the May 2009 meeting were approved 4-0
Nicki Logan gave a brief update on the CVB Cc nimittee meeting. The committee
approved the 1,10T grant application for the Plainview Lions Club District Meeting for
$750.0Q
Eric reported on the Juneteenth and Rodeo Parades along with the Red, Whiie & Moo
event. Eric asked if there was anyone who could volunteer for any of those events, none
carve forward.

This conu-nittee's primary responsibility is to market a unified, quality image of the business district as
the center of activities, goods and servic�es to retailers,, shoppers, investors and tourists. Another
responsibility is to foster a positive sense of community.

Assumes primary responsibility for defining the marketable image of the downtown and
ensuring continuity of that marketable image: in all downtown promotional programs;
Moni'tors, community and consumer perceptions of the downtown and seeks to reverse
negative attitudes and build on positive ones;
m Allocates funds for promotional activity in accordance with the Main Street Program's total
annual work plan and budget,
Works towards building new sources of promotional funding for a portion of the Program's

school clubs and other groups who maight Participate in promotional programs;
Works with the; Economic Restructuring Committee to monitor changes in die downtown's
