To all QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE 0ITY OF PLAINVIE~, TEXAS,
OWN TAX.&BLE PROPERTY IN S~ID OITY~ AND ~THO HAVE DULY REITDERED
THE S~ ~OR TA)L%T I ON:
TAEE NOTICE that ~ election will be held on
the ~0th day of AUgust 19~8, in the City of Plainview, Texas,
to determine whether or not the City Council of the 0ity of
Pl~inview, Texas, shall be muthorized to issue bonds of said
city in the aggregate sum of Fort~ Six Thousand Dollars
000.00) to bear interest at the rate of Four per cent (~%) per

WHE~AS, the City Council of the City of Plain-
view, Texss, deems it advisable to issue bonds of the said
City for the purposes hereina£ter mentioned,

That an election be held on the ~0th day of Aug-
us~t, 1958, at which election the following propositions shall
be submitted:
PROPOSITION I.
flhall the City Council of the City of Plainview, Tex-
as, be authorized to issue the bonds of the City of
Plainview~ Texas, in the sum of Thirty Si~ Thousand
Dollars ($Z6,000,~00) bearing interest at the raie of
Four per cent (~%) Per an~mun, maturing serially Oct-
ober l, I9~1 to 19B0, and to levy a tax sufficient to
pay the interest on said bonds and provide a sinking
fund with which to pay the principal at maturity, for
the purpose of constructing and equipping a city hall
within the City of Plainview, Texas hnd purchase of1
site therefor, as authorized by the Constitution and
Laws of the State of Tex~s?

~lt the 0ity Council of the City of Plsinview, Tex-
sys, be authorized to issue the bonds of the City of
Pl~inview, Texas, in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars
($!0,00~.00) bearing interest at the rate of Four per
cent (~%) per annum, maturing serially October l, 19~l
to 19~0, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the inter-
est on s~id bonds and provide a sinking fund with %~ich
to pay the principal at maturity, for the p~pese of
construction and improvement of streets of the City of

The fact that the ~ediate passage ~d adoption of
this ord~ee is necessary flor the~ prese~ation of public peace,
property, health and safety, demand that the rules requiring ordin-
autos to be read on more tha~ one date before final passage be sus-
pended aud such rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance is adopt-,
ed as a~ emergency measure to take effect and be in force immediate-
ly upon its passage and approval.

ally Droposed to be issued for the construction of a City Hall and
the construction and improvement of streets in the City of Plain-
vi~ and the ~yor and City Secreta~[ are authorized te execute
the necessary contracts~for said wo~Z and purchase,
Said motion was carried by unamieus vote.

that the City procure an option to ~rchase the North half
Zot No. ~ in Block ~l, town of P~ai=~iew, Hale Co~mty, Texas and
the one-half interest in the party ~,all located on line between
lot~s six and 7 from ~Ms. Adella Drew for a period of six months
at a cash price of ~2,500.00 and an option to purchase the east
100 feet of lot 8 and the east 108 ~et of the south half of
V in block ~1 original town of~Plai=~iew, HaIe County, Texas,
from A. G. Himn et al for a period of 6 months at a price of
$5000.00 and that the [ayor, TOm ~helton, be authorized to exe-
cuts such option contracts.
