Alderman Malone made a motion which motion was seconded by Alder-
man Frogge, that the following ordinance be passed and adopted. The mo-
tion was carried and the ordinance follows.
Ordinance No. 483
A2~ 0RDINA2~CE FOR T~_E OPERATION OF A TAXI.
BE IT 0RDAI~YED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLA~_~?, TE3fAS:
Section 1. That Charles Flack is hereby granted aythority for the ope-
~ation' o~-a taxicab in the city of Plainview, Texas.
Section 2. That as well as the automobile which he regularly operates
· ~su~ ~-ervice, he is hereby furthermore granted a~thority to operate
one 1936 model Dodge Sedan, when the automobile which he regularly op-
erates is being', repaired, serviced or out of operation by other like e-
mergenc y.
Section 3. That the City of Plainview, Texas, hereby ~equests the Of-
rmce ox' ~efense TranspOrtation for such additional taxi service and
that such office shall issue proper certificate in the premises.
Section $. The fact tha6 adequate taxi service is a vital necessity
t--6-ou~-'cTty, creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the~-suspensimn of the rule that ordinances shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council. Said rule is therefore hereby sus-
pended and this ordinance is put upon its final reading and passed by
a vote of 4 ayes and no hayeS, and slhall take effect upon being signed
by the May~-~.
