A called meeting of the City 8ounci! was held on the above
date With the ~!a~Yor, John F. DuBose, presiding, and Aldez~uan, E.~[.
Osborne, ~,.C~}~ialone, L.M.Frogge and ~.~.Hancock, and city tax as-
sessor, P.H.Bryan, present, when the following business was trans-
acted., to wit:
Motion by Alderman Osborne, seconded by Alderman Frogge, that
the Bud~etlfor the year 1943-44, be adopted and the following Ordi-
nance be passed and adopted. The motion was carried and the ordinance

Section 2. That t?~e be and is hereby levied for 5he year 1943,
an occupation tax equal to one-half (½) that levied by the State of
Texas, upon all persons,-firms and corporations, following taxable oc-
cupations in the city of Plainview, Texas.
Section 3- 'That the taxes shall be assessed by the tax assessor-
collector for the City of Plainview, Texas, as requi~ed by Ordinance
No._~, ~o . No 6 , Page 287 of the minutes of said City of Plain-
view, Texas, and un'er the laws of the State of Texas.

Minutes of the last regular meeting, also, minutes o£ the called
special meeting held on August, 30th, rSad and adopted.
Motion and second that the monthly reports be accepted and ordered
filed, the regular salaries, and the following bills, be allowe~ and or-
dered paid. The motion was carried and it was so ordered.
