Plainview, Texas, February 21, 1944
The City Council met in regular meeting with the following mem-
bers present. Mayor, John F. DuBose, Aldermen: L.M.Frogge, W.C.~alone,
C.H.Hancock, Ben F. Smith and E.~.0sborne. City tax collector, P.H.
Bryan, attended the meeting.
Minutes of the last .meeting, read and adopted.
~otion b~ Alderman Hancb.ck, seconded by Alderman Osborne,that the
following ordinance be passed and adopted. The motion was carried and
the-ordinance follows.

NOTICE OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS
CITY OF PLAINVIE~?, TEXAS.

ING ORDER WAS PASSED, T0-~qET:
It is ordered by the City Council of the City of Plainview,
that an ELECTION be held at the City Hall in said City of Plainview,
on the FIRST TUESDAY in A~RIL, 1944, the same being the FOURTH (4th)
day of said month, for the purpose of electing the following officers
for said City, to-wit:
?~'~ayor, Cit'y Secretary and Ti~qEE (-3) ALDEP2,~N for a term of TWO
(2) YEARS each. The Aldermen to take the places of L.~. Frogge,
E.I~. Osborne and Ben F. Smith whose terms of office expire in APRIL,
1944; and A.B. Cox is' named Presiding Judge, and 5~rs. L.B. Platt and
l~rs. Guy Jacobs, Assistants.
A copy of this order signed by tlhe Mayor, and attested by the
City Secretary, of said City, shall serve as notice of said E~CTION
and shall be published as requiredqby law;
