BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Hardin, Joe Frank Rodriguez, Albert Torres and Nicole
Ramirez.
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Nick Mogg, Code Enforcement, Judy Rasher, Community
Service Secretary.
Mark Hardin called the meeting to order at 6:01 P. M.
FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Approval of November 14, 2016 minutes. Joe Frank
Rodriguez made a motion to approve minutes as presented. Nicole Ramirez seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
SECOND ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Oath of Office — No action taken.
THIRD ITEM ON THE AGENDA:
Case File No. ZBA -17 -01 A request for a Special Exception in order to be allowed to
construct an extension of an existing porch four -feet into the minimum required front -
yard setback of thirty -feet. The location described as the E/2 of Lot 6 and Lot 7, Block 5,
High School Addition, Plainview, Texas, Hale County, also known as 1900 W 20 Street.
APPLICANT: City of Plainview
VICINITY: W 6 St and Austin St
Nick Mogg presented the case before the board. Mr. Mogg stated that the homeowners, Mr. &
Mrs. Bonner are requesting a variance in order to construct an extension to an existing front
porch of their residence. The proposed extension would encroach approximately four feet into
the required minimum front yard setback of 30 feet. The homeowners have stated that the
porch's front ends at the edge of an existing walkway that leads from the driveway to the front
door of the residence. The proposed extension will match the existing porch's slope, color and
building materials. 16 Letters were sent out to the neighbors. Received no response. Nick
Mogg recommended to the board to allow the homeowners to construct an extension to an
existing front porch of their residence. Nicole Ramirez made a motion to approve the variance
based on the request. Albert Torres seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
