HomeMy WebLinkAbout76-1923 ord ORDINANCE NO. 76-1923 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON EITHER SIDE OF THAT PART OF QUINCY STREET BETWEEN THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE FORT WORTH AND DENVER RAILWAY COMPANY'S RIGHT-OF-WAY TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF TWENTY-FOURTH STREET IN THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, AND PRO- ~IDING A PENALTY. WHEREAS, congestion of traffic on that portion of Quincy Street between the North boundary line of the Fort Worth and De~ver Railway Company's right- of-way and the South boundary line of Twenty-fourth Street in the City of Plainview, makes it advisable to prohibit parking of motor vehicles or vehicles Qf any kind on either s~des of s~id portion of said street; NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAIN- VIEW: SECTION 1: Parking of any kind of motor vehicle on either side of that portion of Quincy Street between the North boundary line of the Fort Worth and De~ver Railway Company's right-of-way to the South boundary .line of Twenty- foumth Street at a point where it intersects with Quincy Street is hereby pro- hibited. SECTION 2: No person shall park or cause to be parked a motor vehicle, aut~mQbile, truck, truck-tractor or motor vehicle of anv kind or any other type of vehicle on either side of that portion of Quincy Street between the North boundary line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railway Company's righ~-of- way and the South boundary line of Twenty-~urth Street at its intersection with Quincy Street in the City of Plainview, Texas. SECTION 3: Any person who shall violable or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than one dollar ($1.00) and not more than t~o hundred d611ars ($200.~00).
