VACC%NAT.10~; ~lfDING ORDINANCE NO. 65-865 ACCORDINGLY; AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW: Section 1: Section 3 of Ordinance No. 65-865 is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "SECTION 3: LICENSES, FEES, DURATION. There is hereby fixed and assessed as a police regulation for the protection of the public health a license fee of $2.50 per annum against the owner or keeper of each and every dog or cat kept in the City. The license shall run from January 1st to December 31st of each Year, and any part of such year shall be deemed and considered the entire year." Section 2: Section 5 of Ordinance No. 65-865 is hereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows: "SECTi6N 5: LICENSE - ISSUANCE OF DUPLICATE TAGS. It shall be the duty of the owner or keeper of any dog or cat to procure a duplicate tag from the City Clerk in the event that the original tag is lost or destroyed, and the City Clerk shall issue a duplicate tag upon application of any person who has complied with the provisions of this Ordinance and upon the payment of $1.00 for the cost of issuing the duplicate tag." Section 3: Subparagraph (a) of Section ~ ,of Ordinance~No. 65~865 is hereby amended.so~as to hermafter read as follows: "Iai Th~ Director of Public Safety shall charge a fee of $6.00 for each dog or cat impounded for the first time in any calendar year. For each subsequent time a dog or cat ~o impounded in any calendar year, the Director of Public Safety shall charge a fee of $12.00. In addition to the fee above specified, the Director of Public Safety shall charge a fee of $3.00 for each day such dog or cat remains in the pound." Section 4: In instances where the Director of Public Safety or employees of his department, determine that it is advisable to vaccinate a dog or cat for distemper in order to protect the health of such animal, there shall be charged by the City of Plainview a fee of $3.00 which shall be collected in the same manner as other fees herein provided for. Section 5: Should any section, sentence, provision or part of this ordinance be declared invalid, it shall not affect any other section, clause, sentence or part thereof.
