HomeMy WebLinkAbout76-2000 ordORDINANCE NO. 76- 2000 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE WEST SIDE OF THAT PART OF PORTLAND STREET OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW EXTENDING FROM THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF TENTH STREET TO A POINT TWO HUNDRED SIXTY- SEVEN FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF TENTH STREET BETWEEN THE HOURS OF EIGHT A.M. AM~ FOUR P.M. DURING THE DAYS THAT SCHOOL IS BEING HELD IN THE HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL; ~) PROVIDING A PENALTY. WHEREAS, after consideration, the City Council of the City of Plainview finds that in the interest of traffic safety, it is advisable to prohibit the parking of vehicles on the West side of that part of Portland Street of the City of Plainview extending from the North boundary line of Tenth Street to a point Two Hundred Sixty-seven feet North of the North boundary line of Tenth Street between the hours of Eight A.M. and Four P.M. during the days that school is being held in the Highland Elementary School; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW: Section 1: Parking of vehicles along the West side of that part of Portland Street of the City of Plainview extending from the North boundary line of Tenth Street to a point Two Hundred Sixty-seven feet North of the North boundary line of Tenth Street between the hours of Eight A.M. and Four P.M. during the days that school is being held in the Highland Elementary School is hereby prohibited. Section 2: No person shall park or cause to be parked a motor vehiclm,--~tomobile, truck, truck tractor, or vehicle of any kind on the.West~side~of that part of Portland Street of the City of Plainview extending from the North boundary line of Tenth. Street to a point Two Hundred Sixty--seven feet North of the North boundary line of Tenth Street between the hours of Eight A.M. and Four P.M. during the days that school is being held in the Highland Elementary School.. Section 3: Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeing Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
