HomeMy WebLinkAbout77-2046 ordORD INkNCE NO. 77-2046 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 30.85 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: BEGINNING at a 3/4 inch pipe at. the NW corner of the South half of SW 1/4 of Section 28, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas; THENCE N. 0° 06' 0" E., 491.80 feet to a point and the beginning point of this tract; THENCE N. 0° 06' 0" E., 570.00 feet to a point; THENCE S. 89° 54' 0" E., 187.50 feet to a point; THENCE N. 0° 09' 0" E., 315.95 feet to a point; THENCE, Southeastward, 20.75 feet around a curve to the right, having a radius of 600.00 feet, a central angle of 1° 58' 54" And a chord[ bearing S. 74° 24' 40" E., 20.75 feet to a point; THENCE N. 0° 09' 0" E., 188.40 feet to a point; THENCE N. 55° 09' 0" E., 17.21 feet to a point; THENCE S. 69° 50' 12" E., along the South side of alley in Westridge Addition, 721,50 feet to a point; THENCE S. 59° 50' 12" E., 297.90 feet to a point; THENCE S. 0° 04' 24" W., passing at 1173.03 feet to a point in the North line of the South half of the SW 1/4 of Section 28, Block JK-2, and the SW corner of Westridge Park Addition; a total distance of 1441.61 feet to a point; THENCE N. 89° 55' 36" W., 320.00 feet to a point; THENCE N. 0° 04'~4" E., 574.3~ feet to a point; THENCE N. 82© 05' 23" W., 3:0.28 feet to a point; THENCE, Northwestward, 661.93 feet around a curve to the right having a radius of 570.00 feet, a central angle of 66~ 32' 16.8" and a chord bearing N. 77° 11' 56" W., 625.37 feet to a point; THENCE N. 41° 0' 03" W., 58.26 feet to a point; THENCE N. 89° 54' 0" W., 159.62 feet to the point of beginning of this tract and containing 30185 acres~ was held[ at 7:30 o'clock _pm. on the 22nd day of Feb~ua~g , 1977, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor-~&leso than ten (10) days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing, together with the proposed ordinance in the form in which it might be finally passed was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Plainview, Texas, and in the above described territory on the ]~h _ day of February , 1977, ~ich date is not more than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing; and DAY, OWEN, LYLE & VOSS WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Plainview, Texas, on the first day of January, 1977 was 7048.9 acres; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Plainview, Texas is ~.~ ~2.%060 ..... inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Plainview, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Plainview, Texas; and acres; WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 30.85 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW: Section 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Plainview, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Plainview, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, to-wit: BEGINNING' at a 3./4 inch pipe at the NW corner of the SOuth half of SW 1/4 of Section 28, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas; THENCE N. 0~ 06' 0" E., 491.80 feet to a point and the beginning point of this tract; THENCE N. 0° 06' 0" E., 570.00 feet to a point; THENCE S. 89~ 54' 0" E., 187.50 feet to a point; THENCE N. 0° 09' 0" E., 315.95 feet to a point; THENCE, Southeastward, 20.75 feet around a curve to the right, having a radius of 600.00 feet, a central angle of 1~ 58' 54" And a chord bearing S. 74° 24' 40" E., 20.75 feet to a point; THENCE N. 0° 09' 0" E., 188.40 feet to a point; THENCE N. 55° 09' 0" E., 17.21 feet to a point; THENCE S. 69° 50' 12" E., along the South side of alley in 'Westridge Addition, 721.50 feet to a point; THENCE S. 59~ 50' 12" E., 297.90 feet to a point; THENCE S. 0° 04' 24" W., passing at 1173.03 feet to a point in the North line of the South half of the SW 1/4 of Section 28, Block JK-2, and the SW corner of Westridge Park Addition; a total distance of 1441.61 feet to a point; THENCE N. 89° 55' 36" W., 320.00 feet to a point; THENCE N. 0° 04' 24" E., 574.34 feet to a point; THENCE N. 82° 05" 23" W., 30.28 feet to a point; DAY, OWEN, LYLE 8: VOSS THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HALE CITY-OF PLAINVIEW APPLICATION FOR ANNEXATION TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW: NOW COMES the undersigned and respectfully City Council of the City of Plainview to annex to the City of Plainview all of that certain tract of land lying within the County of Hale, State of Texas, and described by metes and bounds on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, which said Exhibit "A" is made a part hereto as if same were fully copied and included above the signature of the undersigned. In connection with this petition and application for annexation, the undersigned will respectfully show to the Honorable City Council of the City of Plainview as follows: 1. That this petition is signed by the persons and all cor- porations who own land located within the area described on Exhibit "A" 2. That said area and land is contiguous to the City Limits of the City of Plainview and is accessible to the City Water and City Sewer. WHEREFORE, the undersigned Petitioner respectfully requests that said area and territory described on said Exhibit "A" be annexed to the City of Plainview and brought into its City Limits.
