HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-2381 ord ORDINANCE NO. 80-2381 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE OR LICENSE TO OPERATE AN AMBULANCE SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS WHEREAS, Chapter 5, City Code of the City of Plainview, Texas, authorizes the City of Plainview to regulate and control ambulance service in the City of Plainview, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, has determined that a franchise or license to operate an ambulance service within the city limits of Plainview, Texas, should be granted to BILL BARRETT and DON PRUETT d/b/a BARRETT'SAMBULANCE SERVICE, 1009 Columbia Street, Plainview, Texas. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Plainview, Texas: SECTION I. A franchise to operate an ambulance service within the City limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, be and the same is hereby granted to BILL BARRETT and DON PRUETT d/b/a BARRETT'S AMBULANCE SERVICE, 1009 Columbia Street, Plainview, Texas. SECTION II. Said franchise is granted subject to the terms, conditions and provisions of Chapter 5, City Code of the City of Plainview, Texas, defining and controlling the operation of ambulance service within the city limits of Plainview, Texas. SECTION III. The term of this franchise shall be for a period of 5 years, beginning on the 23rd day of January , 1980, and terminating on the 23rd day of ~anuary , 19~ i SECTION IV. This franchise shall, grant t~ BILL BARRETT and DON PRUETT d/b/a BARRETT'S AMBULANCE SERVICE, the right to operate two (2) ambulance vehicles within the city limits of the City of Plainview, Texas. SECTION V. The necessity to grant a franchise to operate an ambulance service within the City of Plainview, Texas, without delay creates an emergency and imperative public necessity for the immediate preser- vatioln of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare, requiring that any rule necessitating more than one reading thereof b~ and the same is hereby suspended; and this Ordinance shall be passed and take effect as an emergency measure and be in full force from and after its passage as provided by law, and it is so ordained. ]PASSED this the _~/~__. day of January , A.D. 1980, by unanimous vote of the City Council ~of-~'~Eh~e ~City-of Plainview, Texas.
