ORDINANCE SETTING A PUBLIC ~G ON CONT'EMPLATID ANNEXATION
AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACI; FOR A PUBLIC HF:ARTNG ON
THE'PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF PLAINVIE4V,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH
PUSI,IC IEIEARING: AND DECLARING AN EMEf2GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PIAINVIEW,
SEC'T'ION 1. On the day of 1983 at o'clock in the
City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Plainview, Texas,
the', City Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested
persons the right to appear and be heard on thE~ proposed annexation by
thel~City of Plainview, Texas of the following described property,
to~ait
Being all of that portion of the east: half
of Survey No. 27, Block JK-2, Hale C'ounty,, Texas
lying northwesterly of the present city limits
as annexed September 20, 1965 by Ordinance No.
65-894, and South of the city hmi_ts as annexed
May 11, 1975 by Ordinance No. 75-1735:
BEGINNING at a corner of the present city
limits, said corner being 707.78 feet S.89°57'W.
and 70.77 feet S.45°W. of the northeast corner
of Survey No. 27, Black JK-2, Hale Countyn Texas;
Thence S.89°57'W. 1880-41 feet alone
presentcity limits as annexed May 11, 19'75 by
Ordinance No. 75-1735 to a point in the west line
of the east half of said survey;
Thence S.0°00'.30"W. 2075.06 feet along the
west line of the east half of said survey to a
point in the northwesterly line of the present
city limits, as annexed September 20, 1965 by
Ordinance No, 65-894;
Thence along said city limits, norma:L and
500 feet northwesterly from the northwestf~rly
right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 27
(Loop 274) as it existed at the time of s<~id
annexation, an arc length of 990.15 feet around
a curve to the right having a radius point bearing
5.61°Q8'251°E. 3514.93 feet, a central ang:Le of
i6°08'25", and a chord bearing N.36°55'48"E.
986.88 feet to a point of tangency;
Thence N.45°E. 1821.21 feet continuing along
said city limits line to the POINT OF BEGINNING
and containing 41.3665 acres.
SID'I'ION 2; The Mayor of the City of Plainview is hereby authorized
and .directed to cause notice of such public he<~ring to be published. once
in ',a newspaper having general circulation in tlae city and. in the
above-described territory not more than twenty days nor less than ten
days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with
th~ Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 1.60, Acts. of the 58th Legislature,
~tec~ular Session, 1963;. compiled as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes).
SECTION 3o The importance of this ordina}ZCe creates an emergency
and an imperative public necessity that the ru:Le requiring ordinances to
be ',read at three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby
suspended, anal the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its adoption.
