Tn1HEREA.S, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, where all interested. persons wExe provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: Being all of that portion of the east half of Suzvey No. 27, Block JK-2, Half: County, Texas lying .northwesterly of the present: city limits as annexed September 20, 1965 by Ordinance No. 65--894, and South of the city lim~Lts as annexed lMay ll, 1975 by Ordinance No, 75-1735: BEGINNING at a corner of the present city limits, said corner being 707.78 feet S.89°57°W4 ,arid 70.77 feet 5.45°W. of the norivheast corner of Suzvey No. 27, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas; Thence 5.89°57'W. 1880.41 feE~t along present city limits as annexed May 11,.1975 by Ordinance No. 75-1735 to a point :in the west line of the east half of said surrey; Thence S.0°00'30"W. 2075.06 :Feet along the west line of the east half of said survey to a point in the northwesterly line o:f the present city limits, as annexed September 20, 1965 by Ordinance No. 65-894; Thence along said city limits, normal and 500 feet northwesterly from the northwesterly right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 27 (Loop 274) as it existed at the time of said annexation, an arc length of 990.15 feet around a curve to the right having a radius point bearing S.61°08°25"E. 3514.93 feet, a central angle of l6°08'25", and a chord bearing N.36°55'48"E. 986.88 feet to a point of tangency; Thence N.45°E. 1821.21 feet. continuing along said city limits line to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 41.3665 acres. WHEREAS, said hearing being held at the City Council Chambers of the City of Plainview on the 25th day of October., 1983, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than ten days after the institution of annexation proceedings; and GOdHEI2F~AS, N®tice of such Public Hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Plainview, Texas, and in the alcove described territory on the 14th day of cJctober, 1983, which date is .not more than twenty days nor. less than ten days prior to the public hearing on the topic of annexation pra~eedings; and [~hiEREAS, the population of the City of Plainview, Texas is approximately 25,000 inhabitants; and WHE~?EA.S, the above. described territory Gies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of :Plainview, Texas; L~IHEREA,S, the territory above described lies adjacent to and adjoins tY~e City of Plainview, Texas; and WHEREAS, a petition has been signed and acknowledged by the owners o~ all of the land in the above described territory requesting the annexation of such territory by the city of Plainview, Texas, and such petition has been filed with the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas.; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PI!,AII~TIEW, TEXAS : Section 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining with the City of Plainview, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Plainview, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such city, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are hereby altered and amended to as to include said area .within the corporate limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, to-wit: Being all of that portion of the east half of Survey No. 27, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas lying northwesterly of the present city limits as annexed September 20, 1965 by Ordinance No. 65-894, and South of the city limits as annexed May 11, 1975 by Ordinance No. 75-1735: BEGINNING at a corner of the present city limits, said. corner being 707.78 feet 5.89°57'W. and 70.77 feet S.45°W. of the nortYrneast corner of Survey No. 27, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas; Thence 5.89°57'W. 1880.41 feed along present city limits as annexed May 11, 1975 by Ordinance No. 75-1735 to a point in the west line of the east half of said survey; Thence S.0°00'30"W. 2075.06 Beet along the west line of the east half of said survey to a paint in the northwesterly Line of the present city limits, as annexed September 2A ,1965 by ordinance No. 65-894; Thence along said city limits, normal and 500 feet northwesterly from tree northwesterly right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 27 (Loop 274) as it existed at tYie time of said ____ 1 ,_ - ~ ~ . ~` ~ n ~ 4 M annexation, an arc length of 990.15 feet around a curve to the right having a radius point bearing 5.61°08'25"E. 3514.93 feet, a central angle of 16°08'25", and a chord bearing N.36°55'48"E. 986.88 feet to a. point of tangency; Thence N. 45°E. 1821.21 feet continuing along said city limits line to tl~e POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 41.3665 acres. The above described territory anal the area so annexed shali`be a part of the City of Plainview, Texas, and the property so added shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Plainview, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all of the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, and regulations of the City of Plainview, Texas. Section 3. This ordinance shall be passed in the manner provided by Charter of the City of Plainview, Texas PASSED AND APPROVED this the 25th day of October, 1983. ~ ~ ` .V.
