AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 82-2478 AND THE. OFFICIAL ZOPIING
MAP OF THE CITY OF PLAINUIEW SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES:
ZONE CASE N0. 484:
Request of J. W. Hamby, G. F. Glenn and Lou P,nn Warren for rezoning a 2.519
acre .tract (109,742 square feet) out of the Nlorth part of Block 85, College
Hill addition,. and part of a 20 foot wide strip North of said Block and
described as follows:
BEGTN~dING at a point 20 feet North of t:he Northwest corner of
Block 85, College Hi11 Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas;
Thence East 513:75 feet along- the-South line of-West 7th Street to
a; point;
Thence South 140 feet to a point;
Thence East 161.25 feet to a point;
Thence South 54 feet along the West line of Amarillo Street to a
point;
Thence West 538.25 feet to a point;
Thence South 10 feet to a point;
Thence West 136.75 feet to a point;
Thence North 204 feet along the East line of Canyon Street to the
POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 2.519 acres, and located in the 2900 Block
o,f West 7th Street,
CITY OF PLAINVIEW, HALE COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM I~IF-2 (Multiple-Family Residential)
to a CG6 (Commerical General Business) ZONINi~ DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in Zoning Districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Planning and Zoninng Commission for-.its recommendation
which was received by the City Council, and-after due consideration, the
City Council of the City of Plainview finds that for the orderly growth of
the Ci y ma-king the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the
.public interest which creates an emergency; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent. required b,y law for a valid amendment to
the Zoning Ordinance and Map, have been fu11,y complied with, as well. as
giving notices provided by Article 1O11F Vernan's Annotated. Civil Statutes-
Amended, 1953, and notice was duly published in the Plainview Daily Herald
r~ore than fifteen (15) days prior to the-date of the Public Hearing according
to said notice was duly held in the Ci y Council Room of the City Hall,
Rlainview, Texas, at which. time persons appeared in support of the. proposal;
end after said .hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would
~e in the public interest due to changed conditions, that. the Zoning
~rdinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth

BE I'T ORDAINED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW:
,SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 82-2478 and t:he Official. Zoning Map be and the
same are hereby amended as follows,. to-wit:

Rezoning a 2.519 acre tract (109,742 square feet) out of .the North part of
Block 85, Gollege Hi11 Addition, and part. of a 20 foot wide strip North of
said Block and described as follows:
BEGINNTNG at a point 20 feet North of the Northwest corner of
Block 85, College Hill Addition, Plainview,-Hale County, Texas;
Thence .East 512.75 feet along the. South line of West 7th Street to
a point;
Thence South 140 feet to a point;
Thence East 161,25 feet_to a point;
Thence South 54 feet along the West line of Amarillo Street to a
point;
Thence West 538.25 feet to a point;
Thence South 10 feet to a point;
Thence GJest 136.75 feet to a point;
Thence North 204 feet along the East line of Canyon Street to the
POINT OF BEGTiJN-LNG and containing 2.519 acres and located in the 2900 Block
of West 7th Street,
Gity of Plainview, Hale County, Texas, from an MF-2 to a CGB Zoning District.
From the date of this Ordinance, .said lot, tract and parcel of land. described
shall be and hereby be changed to the Zoning District indicated and the official
-Map is amended in accordance herewith.
SECTION 2. Upon passage,. of th%s Ordinance on first reading, the City
Secretary be and is_hereby authorized and directed to cause to have published
~n the Plainview 0aiiy Herald, a daily newspaper of general circulation in
the City of Planvie~r, Texas, a notice that a public hearing shall be held
~n the Council Chamber of the.City Hall in Plainview, Texas, at 7:30 o'clock
P. M., on the 20th day of December, 1.983:, to permit the public to be heard
prior to consideration of this Ordinance for second and finai reading, said
publication to be made more than fifteen (15) days prior to the time designated
for such pub1 i c hearing-.
PASSED on-first reading this, the 13th day of December, 1983:
A notice of time and place where :and when said Ordinance would be given a
public hearing and considered for final pas:>age was published in the
Plainview'IDaily Herald, a daily newspaper of general circulation in the
City of Plainview, Texas, said publication being. on the day of ,
19 the same being more than fifteen.(15;! days prior to the time designated
;for said hearing.. After such opportunity far the public to be heard, said
Ordinance avas passed on second and. final reading.
PASSED on second and final readincd this, the 20th day of December,
1983.
