WHEREAS, VERNON'S TEX. CIV. STAT. ANN.. art. loll and art. 1195 have been amended by the Texas Legislature authorizing municipalities to assess a fine of u.p to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) upon conviction of viola't3.ng certain designated city ordinances; and WI~EREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be in the best interest and to the benefit of the citizens of Plainview, Texas t:hat the penalty for violating said electrical code should be increased in accordance with said statute, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY 7CHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLA:LNVIEW, TEXAS THAT SECTION 7.4 OF ORDINANCE N0. 84-2550 BE AMENDEI) AS F'OL]LOWS 7.4 GENERAL PENALTY; CONTINUING VIOLATIONS. Whenever, in t~ii°.s Code, an act is pro i ited or is made or declared to be unlawful or a violation or a mis- demeanor, or whatever in such Cade the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is hereby declared to be unlawfu]_. The violator of any such prevision of this Code shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00). Each day any violation of this Code shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. The necessity to amend Section 7.4 of Ordinance No. 84-2550 creates, an emergency and it is an imperative public necessity that more than one reading thereof be, and the same is hereby suspended; this ordinance shall be passed and take effect as an emergency measures and shall be in full force and. effect from and after its passage as provided by law, and it is scr ordained.
