WHEREAS, a public bearing before the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, where all interested persons were-.provided with an opportunity to be heard,on the proposed annexation. of the following described territory: BELNG a 23.76 acre tract out of the southwest part o~,Survey No. 27, B1oek JK-2, Hale County, Texas: BEGINNING at the. intersection of the west line of Survey rho. 27, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas, and a north line of x_14.2 acre tract of land annexed March 11, 1975., by Ordinance No. 75-1736, said intersection being 507,9 feet N.0°20`32"W. of the southwest corner of said Survey; THENCE..N.89°'58`09"E. 1348.88 feet along the north line of said 1402 acre. tract, said line being parallel and 507.9 feed Nortb of the south line of said survey, to a point in the. west line of a 15.152 acre tract of land annexed Oct©ber 28, 1980, by Ordinance No. 80-2422; THENCE. T+T, 0°00' 30''E. 765.54 feet .along .the west line of said 15.152 acre. tract and the west line. of Mesa Drive to a point; THENCE N.89°59'30"W. 1353.57 feet to a point in the went line of said Survey; THENCE S.0°20'32"E. 766.48 feet along the west line of said Survey to th.e POINT qF BEGINNING and containing 23.76 acres® WHEREAS, said hearing being held at the City Council Chambers of the City o~ Plainview on the 26th day of November 1985 which date is not Tnore than twent~0) days nor less than ten (10) days after the insttuton'of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, Notice of such Public Hearing caas published in a news- . paper having general circulation in the City of Plainview, Texas, and in the above described territory. on the 13th. day. of .November 198.5, which date is not more than twenty (20 days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the public hearing. on the topic of annexation proceedings; and. ~ 9 ~ °-~ \ y WHEREAS, the population of the~City of Plainview, Texas is approximately 25,000 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the-above described territory lies within. the extra- terrtorial jurisdiction of the City of Plainview, Texas; WHEREAS, the territory above described lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of P lainvie~a, Texas ; .and WHEREAS, a petition has been .signed and acknowledged by the owners of all of the land .n the above described territory requesting the annexation of-such territory by the City of Plainvietti7, Texas, and. such petition has been filed with the City Council of the. City of Plainview, Texas; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED B'Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS: Section 1. The .following: described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining with. the City of Plainview,. Texas, is hereby-added and annexed to the City of Plainview, Texas, and-said territory hereinafter described sha11 hereafter be included within the boundary-limits of the .City of Plainview, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such city at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are hereby altered and amended to as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, to-wit: BEING a 23.76 acre. tract. out ofthe southwest part of Survey No. 27:, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas: BEGINNING at the. intersection of the west line of Survey No. 27, Brock dK-2,'Ha e County, Texas, and a north line of a 14.2 acre tract of land annexed March 11, 197.5, by Ordinance No. 75-1736, said intersection being 507.9 feet N.0°20'32"W, of the southwest corner of said Survey; THENCE N.89°58.'09"E. 1348.88 -feet. along the north line of said 14.2 acre tract, said line-being parallel and. 507.9 feet. North. of the south line of said survey, to a point in the west line of a 15.152 acre. tract of land annexed October'28, 1980, by Ordinance No. 80-2422; THENCE N.0°00'30"E. 765.54 feet along the west line of said 15.152 acre tract and the west line of Mesa .Drive to a point;' THENCE N.89°59'30"W. 1353.57 feet to a point in the west line of said Survey; THENCE S:0°20°32"E 766.48 feet along the west line of -said Survey to th.e POINT'OF BEGIPZNTNG and containing 23.76 acres. ~~ ,o ` ,~~ . The above described territory and the area- so annexed shall be apart of the City of Plainview, Texas, and the property so added shall bear.. its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Plainview, Texas., and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all of. the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, and regulations of the City of Plainview, Texas. Section 3. This ordinance shall be passed in the manner provided by Charter of the City.. of Plainview, Texas PASSID on first reading on this the 12th day of Noveanber, 1985.
