AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5-4 MINIMUM .EQUIPMENT; SECTION 5-5
..TRAINED PERSONNEL; AND SECTION 5-6 WARNING DEVICES OF CHAPTER 5
'ENTITLED AMBULANCES OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS
AND PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview has been upgrading the level of
emergency medical services for the citizens of Plainview and Hale
County.; and
'WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of Plainview
that the minimum requirements for providing said ambulance service be
upgraded.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, .TEXAS: THAT SECTION 5-4 MINIMUM EQUIPMENT; SECTION 5-5
TRAINED PERSONNEL; AND SECTION 5-6 WARNING DEVICES OF CHAPTER 5
ENTITLED. AMBULANCES OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS SHALL
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
.SECTION 5-4. MINIMUM EQUIPMENT. Every

'.SECTION 5-5. TRAINED PERSONNEL. Every emergency ambulance, when
in service in this City, shall be accompanied by a minimum of one (1)
Emergency Medical Technician. (EMT) -and one (1) .Emergency Care
Attendant (ECA) for basic life support and a minimum of at least one
(1)' Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic .(EMT-P), or one {1)
Emergency ..Medical. Technician Special Skills (EMT-S) and one (1)
Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) for levels of advanced life support as
required by the Texas Department of Health Emergency Medical Services
Division. (State Law reference - Vernon's Annointed Civil Statute
ARTICLE 4470, Section 3.03)
SECTION 5-6. WARNING DEVICES. Every ambulance, when in service
in ...this City, .shall have been approved by the Texas Department of
Health Emergency Medical Services Division and shall hold a current
permit issued under Vernon's Texas Civil Statute, ARTICLE 4470, with
reference. to the Federal specification for the "Star of Life
Ambulance." (KKK-A-1822A DATE APRIL 1, 1980)
Should any section, paragraph, sentence or clause, or any wording of
this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be effected.
