SIXTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Discussion on 2015 Park Improvements. Tim Crosswhite presented to the board a recommendation for the $25,000 that the Park Advisory Board has to spend on the parks. Tim proposes to remove the old wood mulch in the parks and replace it with rubber mulch. Sample of the rubber mulch was passed around to the board members. Tim suggested Frisco Park and Hood Park. The cost for Frisco Park would be $4,000.00 and $15,800.00 for Hood Park. With the remainder of the money, the city would purchase an expression swing. The cost of one swing is $1,200.00. Both Ricky Summers and Tim Crosswhite will look into having a local contractor make the expression swing for half the cost. Would like to see at least one expression swing at each park. The board are in agreement of purchasing one expression swing and have the other swings made locally. Tim Crosswhite suggested Frisco Park because of the condition the park is in. Frisco Park was built on an old landfill. The City is in the process of purchasing land across from the park to install a new basketball court. The City would like to see the money spread at all of the parks and not just one or two parks. SEVENTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: EIGHTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Discussion on Parks Study.
