HomeMy WebLinkAbout12.18.2017 ZBA MINUTES BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES 12/18/2017 The Zoning Board of Adjustment held a special public hearing on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 901 Broadway, Plainview, Texas, with the following members present: VOTING PRESENT NO. MEETINGS MEMBERS HELD ATTENDED Mark Hard Y 18 _ 18 Kevin Carter Y Joe Frank Rodriguez Y 1 18 i 14 Danny Murphree Y 8 7 Nicole Ramirez N I 18 14 Albert Torres � N � 9 STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Nick Mogg, Code Enforcement, Mary Ann Saldana, Community Service Secretary. Mark Hardin opened the meeting at 6:00 pm, established a quorum and conducted the consideration of the following items in the order presented. Nick Mogg read the staff reports, and gave the recommendations for each item. ITEM 1: Approval of November 13, 2017 minutes. Danny Murphree made a motion to approve minutes of November 13, 2017 as presented. Joe Frank Rodriguez seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. ITEM 2: ZBA -17 -43 Consider the request of a special exception of the minimum front- ward setback under the City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance Section 37.2.2(H) Special Exceptions. The location described as RIDGECREST PLV NO 1 LOT 25 Plainview, Texas, Hale County, also known as 3401 KIRCHWOOD The applicant is requesting to construct a balcony on the North elevation of the existing residence. The front edge of the balcony would be 34ft. from the back of the curb. Kevin Carter made a motion to approve the variance based on the request. Joe Frank Rodriguez seconded and the motion was carried unanimously. ITEM 3: ZBA -17 -44 Consider the request of a special exception of the minimum front set back authorizing the construction of a Carport under the City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance Section 37.2.2(H) Special Exceptions. The location described as MONTROSE PLV BLK 8 LOT 10, Plainview, Texas, Hale County, also known as 607 W 20 The applicant is requesting to construct a metal flat roof 18ft.X24ft. carport in the front yard setback. If approved, the front edge of the carport would be 23ft. from the back of the curb. Danny Murphree made a motion to approve the variance based on the request.
