The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Rodney gave the prayer.
Volunteer of the Month, delle Bfiseno was recognized,
* Minutes of the April 10th meting were approved.
Uma gave the financial report for March.
*" My Dad Reads to Me" has recorded 13 dads reading to 26 children and SS books have
been shipped.
The May Birthday Recognition will 6e on May 9th at McDonald's.
*1nma reported that all reports due in April were submitted on time.
Operation Serve/city wide cleanup will be June 3e. RSVP will partner with the
Plainview 4-H to clew up the dike and bike trail.
*National Senior Corps week is April 30 to May 4.
Nominations, for the 3S'� Annual Governor's Volunteer Awards may be submifted
through May 1e.
All community gardener plots have been filled.
Gary Stemett has set the date of Satarday, August 1 1'h for the 1 e Annual RSVP Golf
Toumament,
RSVP plans to recognize the retired veterans in the area nursing homes, assisted living
and retirement homes for Memorial Day.
RSVP will be surveying recipients of Meals on Wheels and senior centers' home
delivery as part of a grant reqw'rement.
Irma announced this year will mark the 45 t anniversary for RSVP and asked for ideas
on themes, designs, etc,
.Irma plans to attend the Texas Senior Corps Confereflee in fan Angelo on May 21.23
and the National Senior Corps Conference in Washington, DC an July 16-18.
The next meeting will be June I2, 2018,
*Twyla repofted a total of 347 volunteers with Z17 serving 5198 fours.
* Ballots for Volunteer of the Month were distributed.
