MINUTES
January 19, 2017
The City of Plainview Park Advisory Board, as appointed by City Ordinance Number 95-3035,
dated, as approved, March 28, 1995, held an open meeting Thursday, January 19, 2017 at
Shelter House, Broadway Park, 101 S E 1st, Plainview, Texas, 79072. Minutes for this meeting
are hereby submitted as follows:
FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Called to order by Phyllis Wall at 6:00 p.m.
SECOND ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Invocation given by Ruby Riggins.
THIRD ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Recognition of visitors: NA.
Members present: Phyllis Wall, Ruby Riggins, Kandace Thurman and Joani Chapman.
Members absent: Sandra Sims, Wendy Medina and Emily Parker.
City Staff present: Ricky Summers, Park Superintendent, Tim Crosswhite, Director of Public
Works, Judy Rasher, Secretary.
FOURTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Approval of October 13, 2016 Minutes. No action taken.
FIFTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Discussion of tree foliage in parks. Tim Crosswhite stated as the
trees die out, the City would replace the trees with color foliage. Discussion was brought up
about donations from the public or businesses to purchase the trees and have a plaque with
their name on it.
SIXTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Consider and take necessary action regarding use of Park
Advisory Funds.
Joani Chapman would like to have a plaque made in memory of former board member, Lucile
Davis, to be placed at one of the parks.
SEVENTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Next board meeting will be on April 13, 2017, at Broadway
Shelter House, Br way Park. Meeting adjourned 7:10 p.m.
