ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
SERPTEMBER 11, 2018

*The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Joe Provence gave the
prayer. There was a moment of silence in recognition of 9111.
*Deborah Mahieu was introduced as Volunteer of the Month.
* Minutes of the August 14th meeting were approved.
*Irma gave the financial report for July.
*"My Dad Reads to Me" has recorded 7 dads reading to 10 children with 20 books
shipped. Richard Porter is the new director for the Literacy Center.
*The September Birthday Recognition will be September 120'.
*Irma reported that the State Federal Financial Report is due at the end of September.
*The 45i' annual recognition banquet is set for October 2M at St Alice's Parish Hall at
6:00 PM. It will be catered by Weekends BBQ.
*Irma reported that three volunteer stations did not renew.
*Veterans in area nursing homes, assisted living and senior living homes will be honored
with a special card on Patriots Day, Sept. I Ph.
*Irma reported the new office equipment is a big time saver.
*Lunch Bunch met on August 31* for a program by Brandi Barnett of Calvert Home
Health on fall prevention.
* The I Oh annual golf tournament went well. There is still $1,050 outstanding from 5
sponsors.
*The next meeting will be October 9, 2018.
*Twyla reported a total of 350 volunteers with 190 serving 3,665 hours in July.
* Ballots for Volunteer of the Year were distributed.
*Meeting was adjourned.
