The Main Street Coordinating Board met on November 7, 2016 at the Fair Theater. The meeting was
called to order at 12:17 p.m.
Board Members in attendance were Paul Drager, Chris LeFevre, Cynthia Gregory and Diane Book. Also
present Melinda Brown and Tori Huddleston.
Paul made a motion to accept the October meeting minutes as presented. Cynthia seconded the motion
and the motion passed unanimously.
Chris read the Vision and Mission Goals.
Melinda read the resignation letter from Frances Barrera.
HOT Grant Application — Melinda presented a HOT grant application from the Booker T. Washington
School Reunion. They had requested $500 for postage, flyers and rental. Cynthia made a motion to
award $500 for the grant and Paul seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
10 Point Criteria Report — Melinda explained that this report is required every year by the Texas Main
Street Association and is used to determine National Main Street Accreditation. The Board completed
Criteria #5 (which could be filled out by the Board). Chris made a motion to accept the report as
presented and Diane seconded it. The motion passed unanimously.
Organization Committee —The Board discussed Appreciation Day for downtown businesses. Sign-up
sheets were passed around and times to visit businesses were scheduled for Wednesday & Thursday,
November 161" & 171". Notepads have been ordered to give to the businesses.
Chris reminded the Board that there are four spots available for the Main Street Board next year — be
thinking of some great people to serve on the Board.
Design Committee — Melinda announced that the Concept Plan will be presented to the City Council at
their workshop on Thursday, December 81" at noon.
Promotions Committee — Melinda thanked the volunteers for helping with the Turkey Trot. Melinda also
introduced the 12 Days of Christmas Celebration Downtown. It will include 12 Days of different events.
Melinda asked the Board to share the information with everyone, invite people to the events and join us
for the events.
Economic Structuring- Logan discussed the possibility of a vacancy clause. More research will be done
on if/how to make it work and discuss with City leaders about the reality of enforcing such a code.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:51 P.M.
