HomeMy WebLinkAbout05 0721 minThe City Council met on July 21, 2005 at the Plainview Convention Center, 2902 West
4th Street, Plainview, Texas. The agenda for this meeting was posted in City Hall at
11:25 a.m. on July 18, 2005. Mayor John C. Anderson presided. Councilmembers
present were: Kelvin Tipton-District 1, John N. Bertsch-District 4, Wendell Dunlap-
District 6 and Roland Nash-District 7. Councilmembers Mary Jane Shanes-District 2,
Belinda Pena-District 3 and Ron Trusler-District 5 were absent.
Staff members present were: Greg Ingham-City Manager, John Berry-Director of Public
Works, John Castro-Director of Community Services. Will Mull-Police Chief. Brice
Clements-Engineer, Gary Glass-Fire Chief, Jack Keller-Budget Manager, Leslie Pearce-
City Attorney, Dale Simpson-Director of Civil Service and Belinda Hinojosa-City
Secretary.
Councilmember Kelvin Tipton delivered the invocation.
Cou ncilmembers Shanes, Pena and Trusler were granted excused absences.
The Council and staff reviewed the agenda for the City Council meeting of July 26,
2005.
Greg Ingham, City Manager presented a brief overview of the proposed budget for
2005-2006. He stated he had not completed the budget but would have a draft of the
budget to the Council on Monday, August 1s,. He stated the proposed buclget includes
a 3% cost of living raise and step ra~ses, a fire truck and a road grader. There is
proposed an increase in the property tax rate, sewer rate, water rate and sanitation rate.
There being no further business, Mayor Anderson adjourned the meeting at 12:48 p.m.
