First item on the agenda: Swear in newly appointed/reappointed Board members: JameS Crossland was sworn im Second item on the agenda: Approval of Febrtmry 2005 minutes. Kenny Brown made motion to approve minutes as presented. Max Browning seconded. Motion carded 4-0. Third item on the agenda: BA Case # 1494 The request of Gerardo Perez for a variance of eighteen (118) feet of the required twenty (20) foot front setback as stated in Section 34 of the City ot[Plalnview Zoning O~dinance~to construct a 20'X1.8' carlxm in a Central Bnsines*(CBD) Zoning District, and being Block 3, Lot 3, Central Park Addition, Plainview, Hale Cmmty; Texas the same being 1025 Austin Street. There is no one present for this case to answer q~!e~sfi,o.m ~m the ~0.~d. John C~tro showed tl~? Boarda site plan ~of the propped carport.as well as a map showing the neighboring properties and said there was one (1) response,received from the neighboring properties in favor of the request. There was some question about exactly where the proposed carport would be placed since it was not clearly shown on the site plan submitted. John Castro said he is pretty sure the carport would be placed on the South side of the house. The~ application says the carport would be prefabricated. James Crossland made motion to approve the request with the stipulation that the driveway be concreted. Kenny Brown seconded the motion. Motion carded 4-0. Fourth item on the agenda: BA Case # 1495 The request of Arthur D. "Butch" Watson for a variance of twenty-two (22) feet of the required thirty (30) foot front setback and three (3) feet six (6) inches of the required five (5) foot side setback as stated in Section 34 of the City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance to construct a 20'X18' carport with a 4'X12' porch in a Single- Family (R-2) Zoning Distriet, and being Block 4, Lot 2. Noffitaide Addition, Plainview. Hale Settle is present to answer County, Te:~as the same being 2017 Joliet Street. Danny questions from the Board. He wilt be building the carport and he will be using metal materials. John Castro showed the Board a site plan of the proposed carport as well as a map showing the Board of Adjustment March, 28. 20115 Minutes neighboring properties and said there was one (1) response received from the neighboring properties in favor of the request. John Castro told the Board that Joliet is considered a major th.o.ro.u ,~g,~l~.ar,,~e. and be?.us,e of this, the setback increases to thirty (30) feet. Kenny Brown made motion to approve the reqfl~st based on ~ being the only logical place for the carport. Max Browning seconded. Motion carried 4;0. Fifth item on the agenda: BA Case # 1496 Tl~e request of Maria Mata Garcia for a variance of six (6) feet of the required ten .(10) foot side setback as stat,-d in ,Section 34 ofthe Ci~ of, Plainview Zoning Ordhianc~'to' ~onStmCt a 15'X25' carport in a S~gle Family (R-2) Zoning District, and being Block 34, Lot 2, Lakeside Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas the same being 1623 Kpk0mo Street. Resent_. Cantu is present to answer q ~u~stions from,the Board. He will be'bulldi~g~te carport.
