Call to Order: Ranada Jack, President Time: 12:02 Introductions: Main Street Board Members present were Ranada Jack, Jordan Hrbecek, Carol Terrell, Jay Givens, Tonya Keesee, Diane Martinez, and Phyllis Wall. John Turpen's mother passed away, and Janice Payne is COVID-19 isolating. 2. Board Minutes: Motion: Tonya Keesee made a motion to approve the June Board minutes 2nd: was made by Carol Terrell Vote: The motion passed with a 7-0 vote 3. Staff Updates: Melinda Brown, Main Street Director, shared that there would be a Quarterly Coffee, a partnership with the Plainview Downtown Association on Tuesday, August 181" at the Fair Theater. The City staff will share the Streetscape bond project, and discussion will follow. Masks and distancing are encouraged. She shared the new trash pick up routes for the city. Melinda Brown gave an update on the bond project list. She shared that the Streetscape phase 1 will include 5t"-8t" on Broadway. The construction is expected to start in the fall of 2020, and take about ten months. 4.Committees: a. Imaging/Branding and Marketing - Tonya Keesee presented a report on the organization of the committee. She met with Tori Huddleston, Melinda Brown, and Ranada Jack earlier to outline the committee structure. Tonya has commitments from Diane Book, Emily Parker, and Sherry King. She has a list of others to contact to finish filling the group that will lead the development of imaging, branding, and marketing to develop robust community awareness of downtown Plainview. b. Dining & Entertainment - Carol Terrell presented her report on Dining and Entertainment. After meeting with Tori Huddleston, Melinda Brown, and Ranada Jack previously, it was determined that Dining and entertainment would be two separate committees. Carol Terrell shared her vision and possibilities to enhance existing events and grow new activities to promote downtown both by day and night. 5. Promotion/Upcoming Events: a. 2nd Saturday- The 2nd Saturday poster was shared with each board member. CC's Junque to Antiques is the August 2nd Saturday Business Sponsor. They are hosting Hippie Dippe Mini Donuts at their store from 1 1-2. 6. New Business: Diane Martinez shared her concern with the weed problem and building deterioration in downtown areas, specifically on Broadway and surrounding streets. President, Ranada Jack tabled the discussion and suggested the item be placed on the September agenda. 7. Adjourn: Time: 1:05 PM Announcements:
