ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
June 9, 2020

*The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Gary gave the prayer.
* Minutes of the March meeting were approved as presented.
* Irma gave the financial report for February, March and April.
* "My Dad Reads to Me" has not made any trips to the prison since February.
*There have been no Birthday Recognitions since March. Irma is mailing cards to the
birthday people.
*Irma reported on the grants. State FFR report due on June 30. The Federal grant year
will end on June 30. She will be able to carry forward up to 55000. She has $3000 to roll
over for volunteer recognition. Several ideas were discussed.
*Irma has attended several on-line meetings with state and national Senior Corps.
*The 81h Annual National Service Recognition Day was April 71h. The Mayor issued a
proclamation recognizing the contributions of volunteers.
*Community gardens are up and running.
*A clean-up day for the Hike and Bike Trail was cancelled.
*Irma plans to mail out surveys to the volunteers.
*Several of the usual events have been put on hold due to the pandemic.
*Discussed moving meetings to six times a year instead of the current eleven.
*The volunteer report showed a total of 373 volunteers in February with 245 serving
5362 hours.
In March there were 367 total with 185 volunteers serving 2752 hours. In April there
was a total of 365 volunteers with 78 serving] 279 hours.
*Next meeting will be July 14, 2020.
*Meeting was adjourned.
